Patricia's — Local services in St. Louis

Patricia’s has been my local go to since i turned 18. In the past in-store staff has been friendly, non-judgmental, gregarious, and very open in recommending products. A place that was safe to ask questions. Haven’t been there awhile, and i guess there is new management or a change in staff or something. Called in with a question about safe play and floggers (something I’ve been curious to explore), and when i asked if they gave advice on safe play with floggers, i was disconnected. Thought maybe it had been an accident so tried to call back, and it rang until the answering machine picked up. Was really taken aback, and began to worry I had accidentally called the wrong store. Waited a bit and decided to make sure I hadnt just called the wrong store, and apologize if I had. Called back a third time. Asked if it was the right number, and it was; asked if they gave advice on using their products (which as far as i can tell has never been an issue in the past, in store at least), and was informed that they don’t.

That’s totally cool. Would have been great if that had just been said the first time, instead of getting a door in my face over the phone, and causing me to worry I’d call the wrong store or asked something in appropriate. It’s not difficult to be kind.

I’m actually really sad that I have to write this review. My boyfriend went in to grab something last minute. The dude working was sweet, but the woman was very snappy and rude and said “DONT OPEN THAT” with such an attitude… we’ve both been going there for a long time and have always been treated with such respect. Then proceeded to ask “you know we close in 9 minutes right?” With an attitude as well. Yes we know you close in 9 mins and had planned on it being a really quick trip. We work in retail and get off late so we knew it was going to be a quick trip. He felt rushed and like they could care less about our money we constantly spend there…. I don’t think we...

Went into this store and immediately felt awkward. Was attempting to buy an item but was pressured to buy a similar item that cost more. After giving hints that I was satisfied with the item I wanted the attendants kept making condescending remarks. The butch girl inside of the store just didn't know when to shut up. I didn't ask for her help but she constantly kept making remarks about items I was viewing. I felt completely awkward the whole time in the store so I had to leave and go else where.
