Provisions St Louis — Local services in St. Louis

I had walked past this store about 30 times or more (gotta keep my dog healthy) and every time I thought even just what I saw through the window was amazing. One day I finally decided to hook up my dog right outside and take a peek. When the owner say this she told me “Is that your dog?! Bring her in!!” She then gave Lemon (my dog) a treat and showered her with pets and affection. The items in this store are so unique and seem to cater to many tastes. Along with that, the inventory changes with the season (I got multiple Halloween/falls items for my home). I’m very sad about the one bad review. The owner was so nice and welcoming and asked me how me day and Lemon’s day ❤️ She never got into politics and I went in 1 week before the election. Two other customers and friends with the owner came in after me and the 3 started to talk about deeper, more personal things, which I was privy to because of the size of the store. I felt like this was completely acceptable and appropriate. Had they talked about politics, I think this too would have been fine because they were friends and wanted to see where each other were at. Echoing similar sentiments from other reviews about the guy behind the counter. The moment I walked into the store I made eye contact with him and smiled. To my surprise he looked away and right off the bat I did not feel welcomed. Debra was helping another group of customers while the man made no effort to ask if I needed help finding anything, and that was fine. After deciding to purchase some items I asked him to help me grab a few of those items, as Debra was still busy. He then walked over and finally said something along the lines of “these are really popular” and that just seemed disingenuous.

I tried to support local and went into Provisions to specifically help this store. I asked about recommendations on their chocolate /coffee stocking stuffer bars. The owner seemed to resent I asked if he had tried them and what he thought (I have never seen a chocolate/coffee bar). He was beyond rude and dismissive- he lost that sale (I would have bought about 6 of them if he had only answered nicely!!!!) These folks don't want your business, STAY AWAY!!!! They do not welcome you! You will be made to feel less than! I would give them no stars if I could. How are they even still in...
