My rating used to be 5 stars… ever since moving here 2 1/2 years ago, we’ve shopped at this location for the convenience of it being close. Started off buying our cats food there they usually always seem to have our cats food in stock but ever since we got a dog a few months back. We use hills science diet puppy food, NOT the small bites. They have only had the large bag of food in stock when I went to buy it twice. Every time I go in they never have it in the large bags only 5lb. I constantly ask why they have no reason. You would think to continue business with people that they would accommodate us but no luck. Both me and my fiancé have made it a point that we would like for them to possibly get more bags in. One of the girls had even said that one more comes in they will reserve a bag and call us and never call us. The only one who has ever tried to help us and even maybe give us a coupon when we have to buy the small bag is the manager there. The rest of them do not care. ALSO to mention we normally always go on Wednesdays for military discounts and have ALWAYS gotten a discount on food. One of the girls there is rude and says we no longer do that it’s been that way for a year. I beg to differ, why would we wait specifically for Wednesdays to buy food then? I will no longer spend $200+ every 2 months at this establishment. Petco seems to be worth...

Update 2- Tried to give them another chance ran out of feeder fish, stood in the fish section for 10 minutes. Two employees were playing with the ferrets, made eye contact tried to get their attention. Nothing, ended up walking out. At least the salt tanks look better then last time

Update - industry standard of no warranty? Almost every marine store in Jacksonville offers a warranty on their livestock. This is the only store locally that does not.

Learned my lesson. Buy saltwater fish in Jacksonville. Out of our 5 fish orders all but one fish has died. Clown fish x2, 3x snails, 4x hermits, 1 firefish (survived), blue chromis, and brackish mud eel (which they advertised as a snow flake eel). Recently purchesed 2 blood fire shrimp. Followed the typical drip acclimation as for all our other shrimp. They died 3 hours after buying them. They offer no warranty on their salt livestock. The tanks have more often had bristleworm issues, algae outbreaks, cyno issues, ect. They have issues with their ball python, humidity in reptile enclosures. The staff have very little knowledge. Highly recommend going elsewhere for any animals. All you will get from here is sick, issued animals. The feeder fish tank is often half dead with the bodies sunk...

When into the store the other day to buy more food for my dog since It was on sale. I noticed that the price did not properly adjust to the sale price. Cashier got her manager Chris who argued tooth and nail that the items I bought did not qualify for the "mix and match" promo they were running. Even though the sale signage was displayed under all three varieties of the food. He kept stating that I can't mix offers. He also kept saying I was miss reading the sign. I have a very great grasp on reading comprehension as it's important in my line of work. I was not mixing offers as the 4 boxes of food were all apart of the same offer. I have previously worked retail management in several stores, a pet store being one of them, and this is terrible customer service and terrible marketing by the team who came up with the promotions signage. If only select items qualify, the signs should reflect that and they should not be put anywhere and everywhere. I am never coming back/shopping at this store again. Terrible experience.
