Having recently been to an event catered by Marcia Selden, the bar was set pretty high for our own party....happy to report they exceeded even our lofty expectations.

Nicole was our event coordinator and could not have been more helpful. She was very easy to work with, always positive, and incredibly responsive. We were truly fortunate to have her.

As far as the event itself, well, of course it starts and ends with the staff. Everyone was incredible. Head Chef Eric was wonderful, as were the other two chefs, Will and Zach. They worked in our kitchen as if they had been there a thousand times, and they left it as clean as it was before they arrived. Every dish was cooked to perfection, and there was plenty to go around.

As for the wait staff, Jessica and Helen were marvelous with the pass-arounds. They were warm and engaging. Several guests commented on how wonderful they were, always present, yet never in the way. As for our bartender, Ro, she was delightful and engaging as well. She was polite always, and served drinks with a smile. Collectively, they were all very respectful of us, our home, and especially the guest of honor (90th birthday party).

Lastly, our captain, Daniel, was a true professional. He went over everything with us beforehand, and was responsive to our every need throughout the day. He kept things running very smoothly...really, he was great.

It was a wonderful day, and many of our guests came up to us and said how fantastic the caterer was. Thanks to the entire Marcia Selden crew for being part of our family's special celebration. We very much look forward to working...

Marcia Selden Catering is the absolute best. I had no idea they existed until earlier this week and with ONE experience at an engagement party, I was blown away with this level of excellence. It is the number one choice if you are even considering offering the most delicious possible menu on the planet to your guests for any occasion. This first class caterer is seriously off the chart in every possible way. The menu from Thursday night included delicious options that were healthy and prepared to pure perfection. Appetizers included a choice of butternut squash carpaccio with local burrata, shaved almonds with wild flower honey or micro greens and grilled ficelle. The main course choices included Chilean sea bass with shiitake beurre blanc sweet potato purée and sautéed broccolini with sweet peas and braised short ribs with red wine, thyme, and rosemary or brown butter mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus and blistered tomatoes. Desert included a choice of wear pear and ginger crumble with whipped cream or dark chocolate salted caramel tart, Dulce de Leche’ whipped cream. To literally sum it up: EXCELLENT (most delicious meal I have ever had in entire life), professional kind, and hard working staff (chefs: Walter and Lerena; servers: Alexander and Alexa; Captain: Luis). I could honestly go on and on but will just end here by stating that Marcia Selden Catering is the caterer you should hire if they are available for your next event. if I could award ten stars…I certainly would. BEST DINING...

I had the pleasure of finally working with them on a recent event and every single element, from start to finish, was impactful, thoughtful, creative, well-flourished, and memorable. Their love of what they do shows through the menus they create -- it's truly exceptional to see the variety of directions their menus can take given the couple, venue, time of year, and more. It leaves so much to look forward to, and so much for guests to love and remember long after the event!

Their attention to detail allows events to really take shape and allows me, as a planner, to partner with them to ensure every aspect is seamlessly managed.
