Offers elderly customers the "36 day upgrade plan". You buy a 2nd or third or 4th line and thus get a new phone/ discounted phone with activation. Then on the 37th day, go back and cancel that line line abd transfer sim cards. This is all very confusing for an elderly person. But the second half of this and what makes it scummy, is when you go back in, is convincing the person to keep both lines going. When we said no, the guy was determined to teach us that we didn't understand the scheme and grandma had not paid for two lines for a year or been lied to about not being able cancel the 2nd line ( I just helped her cancel 2 months ago and here they are at it again.) Anyway, if you take advantage of this scheme, make sure that you are a firm person. If you can't say cancel that line firmly, then don't do it. Just 10 months of paying for a second line is 250 to 500 dollars and you can buy a nice phone for that. Finally, shame on the workers here for forceful sales tactics on volnerable populations. When you see someone clearly doesn't understand and you sign them up anyway- it might be legal but that does not mean you are behaving any less preditory than outright scammers. What if it was your mom or grandmother living on a fixed income and going without something they need so you can reach some corporatation's sales quota and help some CEO get bonuses? Ok my review followers, here is why I give 5 stars to MetroPCS on Beach Blvd Stanton CA
So I had been having some issues with my phones data turning off and on constantly for the last week. So Saturday morning I thought I should take my phone in even though I was really dreading it knowing I'd probably have to get a new phone, and it's holiday time. Anyways, we walk in, and right away we are greeted by a young lady with a huge smile on her face, named VERONICA, which made this situation for me better already. Amazing what smiles can do. So I tell her my issue, and within minutes she's able to tell me what's wrong with the phone and of course I need a new one. I wanted the newest phone, the fastest, and with most memory, $1000. but she was able to get it down to under $700 for me, with the screen protector and case, plus I also got like 3 or 4 other phones and 4 tablets. Plus she also told me I was paying too much every month on my bill and told me to call so I can get my bill reduced. Freaking amazing right?? So ended up not being that bad of a trip after all. Plus she has a great singing voice, she sang Christmas songs to the radio. I feel that the store/company is very lucky to have this knowledgeable young lady, she knew about all their products, was smiley and cheerful.
