If you decide to stay here, you really, REALLY need to be prepared ahead of time! This motel was my choice accommodations recently for a locational filming project and I must say, what an uncomfortable yet passably adequate place to stay. Was going to rate this place 2 stars, but I added one star for the friendly, personable woman (the co-owner??) who later showed some humanity and good human exchange. Thanks for the brief interaction and for making me feel like a human being! This place, though, does actually deserve 2 stars, objectively, as you do get exactly what you pay for and, luckily, I was prepared ahead of time (the other reviews are quite accurate). At check-in, you will be subjected to a brief, strongly-worded interrogation, as the older male attendant will, among other requirements, size you up to determine whether you smoke or not, which in turn likely determines which room he will place you in. It feels like what I imagine turning yourself in at a correctional facility would feel like, interrogatingly. Also, be prepared to be rudely pointed to the - surprise! - unexpected list of motel rules that will be sprung on you, taped unremarkably onto the piece of printed paper on the top right corner of their glass window; rules and extra charges that are not disclosed on any website (ie: extra charges for any extra visitors even stepping into your room?? What?!). Although not a problem for me, I felt like at any point, I was going to discover unexpected charges at checkout. I opted to be polite, tried to pretend I could understand his lack of English and proceeded to smile, nod and be on my way to my room. The key card didn't effectively work throughout my stay, but it was nice that it afforded a friendly exchange from the now-warmer attendant to assist me, which broke the ice and helped ease my increasing stress about staying there. I think being polite will go a long way, especially with their curmudgeon owner. The room had enough space for my things and was adequate, but a little dirty/schmutzy (the bathtub was gross and the nightstand drawer featured a random pubic hair) and it's super-noisy, day and night, from the constant sounds of the highway, so be prepared to not get a lot of sleep. But yet, there seems to be a sense that the owners must be doing the best they are able to, which unfortunately though isn't good enough, but will provide for you a no-frills stay. It won't be entirely comfortable, but you'll have a roof over your head...and with some luck, an awkward wave from the owner, as long as...
Read moreThis is the second time my partner and I have tried this hotel. The first time we were met with unfriendly customer service from who I believe is the owner. We book trips to Anaheim regularly, at least once a month, and always book hotels in advance, typically a month ahead of time. The first time we stayed at this hotel it was a multi-day stay and they made us switch rooms after the first night which was a major inconvenience for our plans that we had during our trip. That was not all though, we were put in a dirty room with loud neighbors and tow trucks at all hours of the night in the parking lot right below us. Not to mention, the room was not even the room we had booked. Jumping to our most recent stay, we decided to try this hotel again and booked it at least a month in advance and when we arrived, we were again met with a familiar unfriendly face giving us the same treatment as before. Once again, we were not given the room we booked, we booked a non-smoking room due to medical conditions and were given a smoking room that reeked of smoke and made both of us sick. As soon as we got into the room the phone started blaring and the owner demanded we repark in a different spot talking to me as if I was a child repeating "Do you understand? Do it now" over and over and when I addressed the fact that we had not given the room we paid for he brushed it off and said that was all he had and kept insisting we repark right that second. We continued to inspect the room and found mold present throughout the room, especially in the bathroom which was super disgusting. The outlets in the room also didn't work, there was only one set that had any power connected to it and the shower was made for midgets. We were unable to complete the stay at this location and when asking about a refund we were told no they would only refund for one night even though we had already checked out and had to book ANOTHER hotel and pay extra for the last-minute booking. They do not care about their customers. Do...
Read moreBE WARNED! I've stayed here off and on for over a year as I have contract work approximately twice a month west up Chapman Avenue. The housekeeper does a good job however the manager/owner has anger and honesty issues. Rather than apologizing every time for one or more of the promised amenities NOT working: WiFi, little fridge, air conditioner/ heater, TV or remote he will get Angry at me (or you) for asking for one that works or be moved to another room. He gets mad every single time! Rather than get angry why doesn't he go to each room beforehand and do necessary repairs? One time he woke me up late and "insisted" on checking the fire alarm (to punish me(?) for earlier asking to be moved to a room that the air conditioner worked. Even when I started checking before unpacking and had him address the non-working amenities he'd get very upset and angry, it's like he's doing Way to much caffeine all the time with psychological issues! This is a two star motel for a reason. Beach Blvd there is Soo loud even in the rooms etc.! I learned to bring earplugs. I'll Never stay there again as last time I arrived after 2:00 PM and it took until 3:30 before once again I had what I'd paid for. Be warned. You'll probably end up wondering why this man chose a career in hospitality. HE'S NOT hospitable! PLEASE spend a few more dollars and stay at a nearby hotel/motel where you'll be treated with respect. This...
