It was a gift shop, so there isn't much to be said one way or the other. Had a cute selection of merchandise, tasty fudge, and was fairly clean. The cashiers however were not very friendly at all. One stayed silent the whole time and just stared. Seemed very uninterested in general, which was fine. You don't have to have a great day everyday! However, this coupled with the other woman (who my husband privately nicknamed "the fudge scrooge") made for an unpleasant shopping experience. She watched us like a hawk from the moment we walked in (no greeting, which isnt required but kicked off an awkward time), we felt very uncomfortable while shopping. Almost as if she thought we were gonna grab something and run. But you know, whatever, it's a tourist shop, maybe you need to be a little extra careful with the guests. We could excuse that. Here starts the main issue. Every other shop selling fudge in the gorge has offered unlimited samples (of which we have only each a max of 2 each so as not to take advantage). We know that is is not always the standard, so we make it a point to ask first. When we requested a sample, she rolled her eyes and said "you can have a couple samples, but not a lot". Ok sure, a little snippy but fine. I tried two. My husband, apparently, was not permitted to try a different one for himself. When he requested a different flavor, she explained that she had already given me our two and that was enough. It felt as if we were being talked down to like toddlers. It was not a friendly interaction at all, and not even close to the hospitality shown by other shops in the area. We decided not to push it, bought some fudge, and left quickly. Long story short: it's a gift shop, don't expect much. A good quick stop, but there are similar ones in the area with nicer folks. Who knows? Maybe they were both having a bad day? If we are back in the area we will try again and hopefully the review...
Read moreHonestly my 2 star review is only because of one thing. I personally had an amazing experience and highly recommend this, EXCEPT that on my way back down when I was near the bottom, I watched the operator load a woman and her GERMAN SHEPHERD service dog onto the lift and send them off. Mind you, there is no way to be secured or strapped into this lift, it’s just a metal lap bar. The dog was not sitting still and was clearly panicked, whining and panting from the start and that’s long before the lift is even very high off the ground. Aside from the dog’s well-being, everyone behind her was completely on edge and so anxious worrying that they might see that dog panic and jump/fall off sometime on the 15 minute ride to the top. Dogs should absolutely NOT be allowed on the lift and I cannot believe that’s not a policy and that it was allowed at all. Please please please please make that a policy going forward. And I hope that dog makes it...
Read moreI have been a long time visitor to Natural Bridge and this was the first time doing the Sky Lift. Such a cool experience especially if you have someone in your group that can't hike a decent elevation.
The line was long, but we went when there was a little craft fair going on, so it was to be expected.
The views from the lift are awesome, and of course when you get to the bridge it's even better!
We did the round trip the first day, then the kids and I did the trail at the entrance of the parking lot. It was a cool adventure, amazing rock formations to explore on the way up! We hiked to the bridge, and then the outlook that actually views the Natural Bridge, a must do! Of course the kids talked me into taking the Sky Lift back down.
Making great memories every...
