This place was slow, unprofessional, unclean, and used caucasian versions of black music for their frequent customers...
By slow I mean that when we pulled up, we placed an online order which immediately said "preparing". After a conversation, a trip to the nearby cold stone creamery, which had MUCH better service, and after finishing the ice cream, the online order still said preparing... now this had been about 45 mins to an hour later.
By unprofessional, I mean that when we decided that they MAY NOT update the order online even though the order was placed online, we decided to go inside of the restaurant. Upon entering, there was NO ONE in sight. There's no service bell to get anyone's attention. So, that left us waiting at the podium for a good 10-15 mins, and with that time that we spent waiting to see a single person, we were able to observe the "scenery".
Now, what I mean by unclean is as soon as you walk in, you're greeted by, an initially charming, but overall tacky decor. Then, with a closer look, it makes you question the businesses entire existence. The fish tank is the first thing that you see walking in, and when you're walking in with a purpose, it's easy to miss the God awful living conditions of the aquatic creatures that they have. The water in the tank is literally green, and I was able to see 1 algae eater and another suffering fish inside of the tank... you'd THINK that a seafood joint would know to keep fish in more humane conditions. Then to the left of the podium, there was a barrel with all types of debris on top as if someone either NEVER cleaned it, or decided to empty a dustpan on top of it. Either way, it was disgusting. Then, I can't fathom how an empty restaurant can still have paper/trash under the tables, but obviously, it's possible. I dared not to walk further.
The music is self explanatory. Then when we did see a guy, maybe a janitor but definitely an employee, he didn't acknowledge us at all... then a short time after that, a "hostess" came out to address us, and as I joked with my friend, the order was sitting on the rack behind the register for God knows how long because we were never given any updates. She rang up the order, handed to us, offered no apology for the inconvenience, and that was it.
I'm sure how this place rolls on a busy night, but if your quality is the low at a slow time, I wouldn't trust that the quality would get any better on a busy night. Slow days are supposed to be the easiest, yet 3 orders was too much to handle. (There was a Doordash before us that we saw leave, and another order on the rack next to ours which made 3.)
I cared enough to have taken photos, the pics would've explained what my words couldnt... but this meal wasn't for me, so that's why it was purchased anyways. Just know that I wouldn't asked the place for a glass of water if it were...
Read moreDrove 45 minutes to visit this spot based off an Instagram review that made the food, drinks, atmosphere and robot innovation look extremely appealing. Now let me start by saying I was completely satisfied with my food, the flavor and the complementary drinks in celebration of our anniversary when they overheardwe were celebrating. However, there were a couple of things that could be improved.
When we walked into the hostess stand there was a wait because the postal worker was placing her to-go order and noone was available to seat us. So I decided to go to the bar to get a drink and the bartender offered the option to eat there. So we did.
I was excited about the drink menu, but the first two drinks we wanted, they didn't have one of the ingredients to make it. She still poured a nice strong cocktail and we only needed one. The bartender was polite and provided good service. My only criticism is don't use profanity in front of customers and carry on personal conversations. That's unprofessional.
The robot server was not available. Not sure why and I didn't inquire but that would have been cool to see.
Groceries from Meijer were dropped off at the bar while we were eating. Those could have been set out of site of customers.
The ladies restroom needs updates. I'll just leave it at that.
I would get a carryout but not in a hurry to...
Read moreCelebrating my 71st birthday. I was very disappointed in this place. First giving kudos to our waitress Meagan she was awesome and tried her best to make our orders correct. But that damn kitchen crew was the pits. First they served us 5 crab boils the potatoes were not done at all, they were still raw inside. We asked if we could substitute the potatoes for the spaghetti, they would not let us do that because the potatoes came with the boil. (But we had ordered extra potatoes and corn, why couldn't we substitute that?) The catfish was nice and crispy on the outside but raw on the inside. The kitchen not once, not twice but 3 times gave us sweet potatoes fries instead of regular fries with the catfish. Then tell us they can not take it back because it's been touched by us. What the heck. I can't send my order back if it's incorrect? When the owner arrived on the premises we asked to speak to him regarding our issue, he never came to our table to address our concerns. Our bill came to $259.59 with a 24.49 gratuity I do not recommend this place at all. I will continue to post not just here. But on all social media outlets. You will not continue to open establishments and not respect the people who patronize you. How dare you not come to us to...
