UPDATED TO ADD: I changed this review from a 1 star to a 3 star after the manager of the store sent me a personal e-mail of apology, and the girl working my case also called and apologized. They offered me a free screen protector (which was the wrong size, so I wound up not using it) as another apology. They were quite courteous in trying to right the situation.
Moral of the story: the employees here do not communicate with each other, which leads to confusion and stress that YOU, the consumer, have to deal with.
The long story: I dropped off a newish iPhone 6 with a cracked screen on Friday afternoon. Would like to get the screen replaced, then call me when that's done so that I can transfer all my stuff from my old phone (iPhone 5) to the new old. Pretty simple.
"We'll get it done before the end of the day," said the male tech. By 7pm, their closing time on Friday, I had heard nothing. I received a phone call 10am the next day, Saturday, telling me that it's finally ready. "Oh but the tech who was helping you is off for the weekend and won't be back until Tuesday, it would be easier to have him do the data transfer since he knows what you want." A data transfer is that complicated? Why didn't he tell me he wouldn't be able to do it until Tuesday when I came in there before? I don't want to wait until Tuesday, I said; that's fine too, says the girl on the other end of the phone. Bring it in and we can probably finish it today (I've heard that before...)
I drop off my phone around noon on Saturday. Give them my friend's phone number so they can contact her to contact me when the phone is done, or to let me know if they can't finish the phone that day. I NEED to know this, because if they can't finish it on Saturday, they are closed on Sunday - and I would be without my phone all day Saturday AND Sunday AND most of Monday, as I work like a normal citizen and wouldn't be able to pick up the phone until after my shift is over.
They call my friend at 4:03pm - AFTER they have closed - asking if I'm going to pick up my phone. ???? My friend also informs me that they called her at 3:47pm asking for the passcode to my phone and did not indicate to her in any way that they would be closing in 13 minutes. Also, they needed my passcode but did not ask for it when I dropped the phone off? I blame this on the fact that the girl who checked my phone in earlier that day seemed in a big hurry to get me out the door, and neglected to ask me some important questions.
I frantically drove to the store at 4:11pm to see if I could catch anyone while they were closing up. Miraculously, I caught an employee (a second male tech, someone I had not seen before) as he was locking the door. He graciously let me in and returned my phones to me. While this tech was very friendly and understanding and tried to help, he had NO IDEA who I was, which phones were mine, or anything about the situation. When I asked about the girl who had arranged the order earlier that day, he simply said she had finished her shift without telling anyone about my situation.
Kind of ridiculous when people rely on their phones for so much nowadays. I, like most people now, do not own a house phone - my cell phone is my sole means of communication. To not have that for 2 days because somebody didn't call to let me know I could pick it up is unacceptable. I will not be using this business again.
Note also that they can remove any reviews or comments on their business website that they deem "inappropriate", "obscene," or "distasteful", so the reviews there (while entertaining) may not...
Read moreI took my phone in to replace a cracked screen. I was told that it would be ready in two days, but it took three days. Two hours after I picked it up, the screen separated from the phone. I took it back in to be properly repair, and from start to finish, it took a month to be fixed. I left very frustrated!!!! The screen was fixed but the buttons would not work, and the back casing would not connect properly to the phone. The CPR employees cracked the back casing of my phone and small pieces were broken off. I was able to get the screen fixed but they completely ruined the back of my phone. Now I need to order a replacement for the back of my phone. The back won't stay on the phone. Nothing was done to fix this issue. I was never even offered a refund or partial refund due to the time it took to try to fix my phone or to the damage that they caused to my phone.
I took my phone to TECH ON DECK, and in one hour, all of my buttons were fixed on my phone but the back casing could not be fixed.
DO NOT take any electronics to CPR!!!! PLEASE go to TECH ON DECK. The customer service is amazing and communication is excellent. I will be taking all of my tech related business to TECH ON DECK, on Main St and next...
Read moreNever give them your iPhone, They will break and return it to you. I had an issue with my iPhone 6 GPS and WiFi and unfortunately I went to their shop. The lady diagnosed the issue "WiFi anthena" problem and suggested a replacement. She told me it will take 30 to 45 min to replace the piece. after 2 hours she came to front and told me sorry, your phone rejected the piece like human body does to the organ transplant. I called the company and they told me they do not care about the branches and store manager (here Roger I guess) has to fix the issue. I went to apple store and they gave me a written statement saying that during improper replacement the LCD is broken, but the phone is working. However, I went to store and they offered me to replace the LCD with discount :))) YES, not free!!! and guess what!!! they even could not do that! Roger told me the back light is now gone! (seriously! why are you guys in phone repair business when you can not!), and GUESS WHAT AGAIN, they could not find my old original LCD, So I am with a dead iPhone that has a fake low quality LCD. That's why you should not...
