Key West Charter Fishing — Local services in Stock Island

My son (11) and I have chartered with Captain Blake on two separate trips, both of which were amazing.

Blake was extremely knowledgeable about the local ecosystem and was willing and able to point out many interesting things as we headed to our fishing destinations.

Our first trip was a backcountry excursion that took us through the mangrove shallows. We caught mangrove snapper and attempted to catch tarpon. Once the sun went down, we moved closer to the lights from the bridges and again went after tarpon. We were able to hook and fight several, but all were able to eventually slip our hook!

In the second trip, we did a near shore excursion. This trip we were able to successfully catch barracuda’s and a lemon shark. Fighting to reel in the shark may have been the highlight of my son’s entire key west vacation.

I would highly recommend Captain Blake to anyone looking for a key west...

“Best charter ever!” Choosing a fishing charter can sometimes feel like going on a blind date. You do your due diligence and hope for the best. Typically I research tons of different trips, read the reviews, and agonize over choosing the best possible option. This trip, our charter was way more last minute than I typically roll, but boy did we luck out with Captain Blake from Key West Charter Fishing. After several days of unsuccessful attempts to catch a Tarpon from shore on our own, Captain Blake put us right on them, taught us what to use, how to catch their attention and how to land them for a quick photo before releasing them. Captain Blake is an awesome fishing guide that provides very knowledgeable advice on how to improve your angling skills while being patient. He also takes the time to discuss and show his guests all of the wildlife and historical tidbits about the key’s environment while fishing.
