Dolphin Deli — Restaurant in Stock Island

My wife and I had breakfast here Wednesday morning. The Cuban bread we have come to so quickly love was pretty stale on both of our sandwiches. I got a sausage egg and cheese, the sausage on my sandwich was 2 Jimmy dean style sausage patties that were almost burned, Seriously? My wife ordered a side of fruit which was an additional 2 dollars and was melon cut up into the smallest pieces I have ever seen, stuffed into a small takeout cup most likely meant for sauces. I got a single slice of french toast for an additional 2.50 and It looked like it was a slice of frozen french toast form the grocery store. the service was decent but the food took a while and it was really unsatisfying, especially considering it was like a $30 bill for really mediocre food. The food was amazing and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Got the sea cow sandwich, which was so juicy and steaming hot til the last bite (literally, my husband even commented on it). Asked the employees their opinions about their homemade potato salad and macaroni salad because I couldn’t decide. I ended up getting the macaroni salad, which was light and refreshing, and one of the staff gave us some potato salad for free to try, and that was deliciously filling due to the bacon, and both were exactly how the staff described them. I would not reccomend this place. The food was awful and WAY over priced. I ordered a side salad (4.00) with chicken. And recieved a tiny chicken breast that tasted awful. And was charged over $9.00. When their large salad with chicken is about $12.00. I couldn't even eat the chicken it was so bad My boyfriend ordered the dolphin sandwich and he couldn't even eat half of it. Way too overcooked and dry. It also took forever to come out because all of the staff was goofing off and being loud. There are way too many good restaurants in key west to waste your time and money at this one.
