I scheduled a pet grooming appointment at 2:30 pm today.Ā When I arrived for my appointment Stockton #01319 the stylist Bre told me that because I booked late in in the day she probably wouldnāt Ā be able to finish my dog and did I want to reschedule. Ā I told her no.Ā At 4:32 she sent me a text message saying she couldnāt finish his feet and would I like to finish sometime this week.Ā I said no, I wanted him finished today. (See copy of text message).Ā I got no response so I called and no one answered the phone.Ā I called headquarters to lodge a complaint and the rep said they would call right now to leave a message for the manager to call me back.Ā No one called.Ā At 6:30 I received a message from the lead person or grooming manager stating my dog was ready to be picked up.Ā I asked if he was completely groomed and she said I think his paws were not done.Ā I said did you receive a message from corporate about my complaint and she said no, it will probably go the managers voice mail.Ā I explained my dilemma and she said she could give me a 20% discount.Ā I said Iāll come get my dog.Ā When I received him his paws were not done, his face was not washed, and he had shaved patches on his coat. Ā I am completely upset with this Petco location and I will not be doing business with Petco...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is more of a concern for anyone's pet. Today, I went in to the store to buy items for my dog. As I was inside shopping, i heard one of the groomers yelling at the dog she was grooming. It was way more than a yell, she was treating the poor dog really bad, it seemed like she was taking her frustration on the dog. I looked in her direction, one of the cashiers saw my face with concern but still did not say anything to the groomer. It was evident she was not having a good day, during the entire visit of maybe 10 to 15 mins i heard the groomer yell at the dog like 3 or 4 times. AND THE FACT THAT WE COULD HEAR THIS GROOMER FAR AWAY FROM WHERE SHE WAS AT TO THE MIDDLE OF THE STORE SHOULD SAY A LOT. I understand some dogs may not be complaint when they are being groomed. But i also feel there is a way to treat animals, and this definitely was not the way she should have done this. As I was walking out of the store, it came to my mind that I should have recorded it, and sent it directly corporate but it was too late. I made sure to call petco directly and put in a concern. If this is the way they treat animals, I would NOT recommend bringing your pets in here to be tortured...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took my Belgian Malinois to this Petco for grooming, and Iāve never had a worse experience. The way the groomer handled my dog was completely wrongāshe was rough, impatient, and clearly didnāt know how to deal with a strong, trained dog. My dog is very well-trained, and when I gave him a command to lie down, he listened. But because he didnāt want to go with her (which is totally normalādogs prefer to stay with their owners), he somehow slipped the leash. Instead of calmly handling the situation, she panicked and yelled, āPut the dog back on the leash!āāeven though it was her fault in the first place.
Iāve been to many other Petco locations, and the groomers there loved my dog and handled him well. This one clearly doesnāt know what theyāre doing.
They offered me another groomer afterwardāshe seemed kindābut the level of unprofessionalism I saw earlier made it impossible for me to trust them again. I refused.
If you care about how your dog is treated, I would avoid this location. They do NOT know how to properly handle or groom dogs. Plus, I used to buy all his food and toys from here...
