Ilya Kohen and CurtainTime are a throwback to the past, for which I am incredibly grateful. CurtainTime is a speciality store, run by a person who knows his subject. When I needed to match window hardware from 30 years ago, it took only minutes to explain and he understood, searched and found what I needed. The shop is just what it says:CURTAINS. Quality pieces which will last, rather than tossing things out in a few years due to wear and breakdown. Hardware to create an effect in a home. The specialization that's been lost with online and box stores really does still exist somewhere! We don't go to a cardiologist for a root canal, or an orthodontist after a heart attack, why would you go to a department store to creste your look, or order online without even touching the fabric? Curtain Time has a massive variety of window dressing and hardware, operated by a specialist in his field who also has resources to help find or make special pieces to fit your home's needs. And not at an exorbitant cost either. Ilya Kohen made me feel something I haven't feel in years.. like a customer whose input matters and whom he wanted to sincerely help. I would give Curtain Time more stars if I could. I have been buying curtains at this store for about two years now.. I Can’t say enough good things about the owner Ari and Marilyn (the curtain whisperer) LOL . Both always manage to figure out what I’m looking for, even when I can’t quite articulate what I’m looking for. I came in to the store last July with an idea for my difficult oversized dining room window. While traveling I had found the perfect window treatment and the exact fabric I wanted. I was able to get the fabric number from the owner of the B&B where I was staying and I took a photo. Armed with only the photo, fabric info and a dream, I went over to Curtain Time. Marilyn rough sketched what I was looking for added the number of valances that would be needed based on dimensions of the window called a company and found they had the fabric I wanted And managed to make exactly A perfect window treatment !!!! The installer (Mike) installed everything Saturday. His attention to detail and his willingness to work to perfection Is something I have not seen in years ! I could not be happier with how my dining room looks now. Thank you Marilyn for making this lady’s dream become a perfect reality ! And thank you so much Ari. My partner and I had a stellar experience working through Curtain Time to get custom blinds made and installed at our home. We knew from the get-go that we wanted more complex blinds than we could install ourselves. From the beginning, shopping with Paul Newman, a designer associated with Curtain Time, for patterns and styles, we were having fun and learning a lot. We ended up ordering both Comfortex and Hunter Douglas blinds, including rollers as well as a variety suiting different purposes among top-down, bottom-up, corded, cordless, semi-sheer, and blackout. Throughout the period of the work, Ilya, the owner, was always available when needed to discuss process and he is a great communicator. Yurii, the installer, is the most respectful laborer we've had in our home - quiet, focused, and clean. My partner and I were consistently impressed with the service and communication of all Curtain Time employees and associates. If they make a mistake they will do right by it without you even asking, too. We were referred by friends and will refer again if the opportunity arises.
