I'm APPALLED about what I just experienced with Kennedy cafe and the employee there. I have been to this place many times as I work in the area. I'm a black American women. Today a women who took my order whip her nose with her hands after touching the register and proceeded to get my muffin. She gives it to a gloved women who prepares it. The girl who originally took the order went to the bank. I asked the lady who was gloved as she always took my order, how come the hands are not washed before touching the food? I told her how the young lady whip her nose touched the register and retrieve my muffin. She begins to say to me "she didn't get the muffin I did" I'm like shocked I said you do understand there are cameras and that's not what happened. You did not get my muffin she did and passes it to you. She then proceeded to say.. and I almost passed out at the fact she then says.. "well the Spanish people and the Americans that come in here say we are clean" huh? I asked why the lady did not where gloves, I'm confused as I told her why are you mentioning races? I didn't say anybody was not clean, i simply asked why she would whip her nose not sanitze and touch food after touching the register. I say why you mentioning races? She says I'm not "racist" I'm from morraco I'm from Africa to, (who the hell said I'm from Africa when I'm American!!!!) But we are not talking color or Spanish or America I'm talking about why would she touch the food without gloves or clean hands. I can not believe this. Lisa the owner, I hope you take time to review the cameras at 1210pm today 9/21. I plan on reaching out to you personally and discussing the actions of your employee. There was no reason to embarrass me being a black women and say "well the Spanish and Americans think we clean" so what does that mean? I need to speak to someone asap. I do plan on reporting this to the city as well. I suppose if I was Spanish decent or looked in American in her standards, I would of been treated differently. But if your cameras work and you can hear the conversation. This is one to be heard. It's obvious there's some underlying racism with your employee and she chooses to look and treat people according to what she thinks they may be. I never experienced this in so my 40 years. All because I wanted to be sure I won't get sick or get a germ she turned out into a racist/ and the most embarrassing feeling of bringing up other races to cover up the fact her friend possibly did wrong. Then choose to lie and say "she never touched it" when she took my order and HANDED IT TO YOU. So imagine what your employee lies about to you as the employer if she can say this to a customer. And just for the record I been visiting your establishment for months. How daren her bring up other races as a EMPLOYEE TO A...
Read moreI was SO impressed! I had my own cafe in Fenway a decade ago, and I am SUPER picky about muffins and donuts. They were almost out of donuts when I came, and I mended being sad about this, as I had heard about the Dubai donuts on Instagram. They had donuts that had just come out of the oven and so they made me a Dubai donut! It was piping hot, delicious, and just so satisfying.
I took a muffin to go (it looks like the perfect amount of crunchy on top and gooey inside, with SO many blueberries), and I had a cheddar jalapeno bagel with and egg and cheese (again, mind blown delicious. So so good).
I’m curious if they make their bagels of or they come from a local place, as I’m also picky about bagels and these reminded me of some I had in Northampton, but they were good!
Will totally come back!!!
So friendly and kind and plenty of seating.
The sandwich was $6, which was super affordable, and muffin and donuts were )4 each.
Do be warned, if you’re terrified of dogs, there is a state of a dog to your left when you enter. I jumped before I realized it was fake . Just something to be aware of for whoever that might matter.
But def will be back!!!...
Read moreI understand that the past few weeks have been incredibly busy because of the social media exposure, but the owner (or the lady with the short blonde hair) is incredibly rude to her staff. The other day I went to get a coffee bucket, and the owner said (in front of two young girls working their butts off!!) “sorry, my best employee isn’t here today.” If I was working there, I would have been so frustrated knowing my work wasn’t being appreciated like that. The coffee was pretty good, but I’d rather take my business elsewhere where the employees are appreciated for their hard work. Even when it isn’t busy, the lady with the blonde hair is miserable and rude to customers. As someone that works in food service, I understand how stressful and exhausting it can be, but it’s no excuse to mistreat your workers and...
