The Paper Store — Local services in Stoneham

I love the Paper Store but today we walked into this location at 4:48 and this petite older woman with long ash blonde hair power walked to the entrance and told my and my daughter and another mom with her 3 children the store was shutting at 5 and the cash register won’t work after that while ushering us physically to leave. The tone used was terrible and we felt so unwelcome that my 18 year old wanted to immediately leave and became nervous. I said “ok we will leave at 5 then.” We walked passed her to look at the Jelly Cats and it was just so weird- never had I experienced this in the Paper Store. Poor management here. If a staff member doesn’t want to work on a Sunday and encourages people to not come in 12 mins before close they should not be here to work. She lost my $90 Jelly Cat sale and the other mother was also so upset by how rude she was to them...

Normally I love the paper store and usually shop the ones closer to my home. Today, I ventured 40 min to this location in Stoneham because they had something that could only be picked up in store. Got there, found the item and brought it to the register to pay. The price of the item in the store was showing $20 more expensive than the price of it online. They were ready to charge me the more expensive price until I mentioned I could just place the order for the thing online (in front of them) and “pick it up in the store”. 🤦‍♀️ after a bit of back and forth, finally they agreed to honor the price online. Two people for a very busy store. Not all items were price marked. Only 1 person at the register, gift wrapping, etc. I'm usually greeted when I come in the store, but that didn't happen today because not enough workers.
