I DO NOT RECOMMEND. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. PEOPLE LIKE THIS SHOULD NOT BE WORKING IN HEALTHCARE. Got bit by an Insect on my abdomen on 5-2-2024. On 5-4-2024 went to Cleveland Clinic Express in Kent for the pain, swelling and discharge, was prescribed Doxycycline 100mg twice per day. Day 3 of treatment (05-06-24) Symptoms are getting worse. Pain, more, swelling, discharge, I can literally see the bacteria eating away at my flesh. It's spreading rapidly. I just got off work at 7:00 A.M (seriously, who wants to go to the ER after working night shift? That's how miserable i was)My coworkers even told me "That looks bad, go to the ER. I made several calls to my doctors office that went into voice-mail, I left two messages. I decided to go to the ER. These symptoms were also accompanied by a headache I could not get rid of. The doctor did not come look at my wound. Can you believe this???? The nurses did. They were running back and forth asking him questions. They were VERY RUDE. I could hear them laughing and gigling behind the nurses station. One of them said "Yea! the one who came in with the Insect bite? Ridiculous!" Then they all started laughing again. It might have been funny to all of you, bit it wasn't to me. This is my life we are talking about. Staph infection can lead to death! You'd think they would have learned that in Medical/Nursing School, but I guess not. The sad reality is, way too many people like this are working in Healthcare. They need the help so bad, I guess they hire anyone. The two ladies who came in were rude. Georgia and Shawna, very unprofessional. I believe it was "Georgia", She said, "Next time, call your primary care physician. I'm getting your discharge paperwork and sending you on your way. Very mean, rude and nasty. It wasn't busy at all, and with all the bad reviews, I'm very surprised their still in business. TO ALL THE HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS: That karma train is making stops. You or a family member might be on the receiving end of unprofessional behavior such as this. UNPROFESSIONAL, NO EMPATHY OR COMPASSION. The state of ohio ( all states for that matter) needs to revamp its hiring process big time. Some type of mental health evaluation needs to be taken to see if one is even fit to work in these fields. I was given a shot of tramadol for my pain and prescribed cephalexin 500mg four times per day on top of the previous prescribed antibiotic. I pray this combo knocks this staph infection out, because if not, I WILL BE RETURNING, and I'm recording everything. GEORGIA ZACHOPOULOS and SHAWNA DOWNEY do not value their jobs They should not be working in...

Quite possibly the WORST experience ive ever had coming here.
To preface ive have spine surgery in the past and went in for excruciating back pain which was causing bladder issues as well.
I was never shown where the call button was located, nor was it placed within my reach. I waited over an hour before being seen by the attending practitioner, PA Brittany Haws. During that hour, my pain escalated to the point that I was shaking and crying uncontrollably. Despite my room door being wide open, no staff member checked in on me or offered assistance during this time.
Noted in my paperwork:
Jeffrey H, RN at 9/19/2025 2:15 PM Patient crying loudly in room, Emotional support given. Patient given a pillow and offered repositioning in bed. Patient sitting upright on side of bed. Call light in reach.
So now what was really upsetting is they knew I was "crying loudly" but took a ridiculously long time to come in and check on me. A pillow was tossed on my bed, with NO offer to help me move, and if my call light was indeed within reach, no one showed me where it was when i was brought back to a room. I wish i was given emotional support but instead heard a mockery comment about my crying.
When Haws eventually entered, she was visibly frustrated with my crying. Her demeanor was dismissive, and her communication was unprofessional. When I answered her question about experiencing both numbness and tingling, she told me I “cannot have both” and needed to “pick one,” which felt invalidating and disrespectful. After she left the room for a call, it was quite some time again before anyone returned to check on me. She told me she wanted to assess my mobility and i needed help moving my legs, but she did so, so aggressively that it caused me to start getting upset with excruciating pain in my back and then she never performed anything!!!
When I expressed the need to leave to pick up my children, Haws stated I could not leave until she reviewed my urinalysis report and did so in a manner that felt condescending and dismissive of...
Read moreNightmare ER visit: My girlfriend had been experiencing severe acute abdominal pain for a few days at that point, and we had already been in two ERs with no diagnosis. We were going to a lab to get a prescribed blood test, when she passed out. When she woke up, she couldn't move a muscle in her body, and barely mumbled to take her to the ER. This hospital was the closest one. Upon arriving, they repeatedly eyed me up, acting as if I was suspected of doing something wrong. They also repeatedly told her to sign paperwork, despite the fact that she couldn't move a muscle. It's like they were trying to test if she was faking it - they tried this several times throughout the ordeal. Meanwhile I was terrified that she was near death.
I called her mom (a nurse) who lives 40 minutes away, and explained that they are treating me like a threat, and treating her like she's faking it. They finally decided to give her some strong pain meds and do some basic bloodwork. When her mom arrived, she had to fight with the doctor just to do more advanced bloodwork that would catch various organ problems. They finally agreed. But the bloodwork came back fine. You would think at this point they would admit her to the hospital - paralyzed, no diagnosis, and 3rd ER visit in as many days. Instead they put her in a wheelchair and wheeled her out to my car. That was the extent of their interest in her case.
I decided I was finished with ERs, and took her ASAP to an urgent care clinic, where the doctor was shocked that the hospital didn't admit her. He believed that it was a GI problem, and referred me to a gastro doctor, who did a colonoscopy and found that she had the "worst" splenic flexure case he "had ever seen in 30 years". He said it was "a textbook example". The paralysis was apparently due to extreme pain from pressure build-up in the splenic flexure.
Apparently the Akron General doctor needs to re-read her textbooks, and stop running her house like she's on Law...
