With the choices available in Stow, My overall experience was awesome. Sure there may have been a few hiccups, but that can happen anywhere, even at a 5-star hotel. In my 51 years of living, I have yet, to find an individual or business that is absolutely perfect. If you do not bring problems to their attention, how can they address them? Because of that, I am basing my review on my overall experience.
The hotel is very nicely designed to accommodate a large number of Peoples needs. The front desk personnel was very hospitable. For the most part, any requests that I made during my 5-week stay were addressed in a timely manner. My room, a 1 bedroom King suite, was one of the nicest rooms that I have ever stayed in. For those 5-star hotel People, I would never expect 5-star services from a hotel that is not designed to be a 5-star hotel. My view on Staybridge Suites overall is pretty darn nice, especially for the awesome price that they extended to me for a long stay. One nice thing in Ohio is that after 30 consecutive days of staying in a hotel, your hotel taxes are refunded to your account. Now let's move on to the various services they offer.
They have a really great breakfast with a large variety of food and the manager of that area was incredibly nice and accommodating. With the hours that I was working, I often had to take items to go and that never seemed to be a problem. Most free hotel breakfasts are just not very good and this one is certainly above par with regards to other hotel chains free breakfasts. Also, if you are there in time, they serve Dinner 3 nights a week, which allows you to socialize with other guests that are joining the dinner. That, in and of itself, saves you a fortune in food costs if you do not want to cook in your room.
Their laundry room at this hotel has pretty nice washers and dryers and they offer those for free to registered Guests. Another great money saver when you look at the time and money it takes to do laundry in a laundromat and you don't have to leave the hotel to do your laundry. I found this to be a great convenience for me.
The workout room is very nice with updated equipment and enough of it to at least perform maintenance routines while you are out of town or away from your normal gym.
The indoor heated pool and hot-tub is open year round and is very nice.
The room that I stayed in was a 1 bedroom King Suite. It came fully equipped with the basic kitchen items, a full-size refrigerator, microwave, two burner cooktop, full-size coffee maker, dishwasher and adequate counter space to prep and cook. If you need more space for prepping food, there is always the breakfast bar/table to work on which is nice and wide and pretty long. If you are a serious cook, you may want to bring some of your favorite cooking items to help you as they could never please everyone's needs out there. My suite had granite countertops that looked new or very well kept up and the carpeting was nice and appeared to be cleaned regularly. The bathroom was roomy with a nice shower head for a nicely pressured shower. It also has a large closet for your clothes and a full-size ironing board and nice iron if needed. They even provide you with a laundry basket and hangers for your clothes. The Bed, Oh the Bed! The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in at a hotel. So nice! 2 TV's, one in the living room and one in the bedroom with cable an on-demand and a couple free movie channels.
Cleaning service: I read one complaint from a previous guest that complained that they only clean once a week and are not there on weekends. This was not my experience. It is true, for extended stay Guests, that they offer a weekly deep cleaning of your room. The guest that complained about this must not have inquired with the front desk. In your room, there are magnets on the door for the services that you require. If you don't want anyone in your room, you can put a magnet on the door when you leave and they will stay out of your room. If you do not place the DND magnet on the door, they will come in every day and make your bed and change out your towels and dish towels and make sure you have dishwashing soap for the sink and dishwasher. Could there, on occasion, be a little better attention to detail? Yes. But, overall, there is nothing to complain about with the cleaning service.
The Staff there is excellent! The Manager, Megan is very nice as well as Taylor and Zach. My company messed up my pay several times and they worked with me to the best of their ability. Everything worked out and I really appreciated them working with me. The other choices near Stow, for the price, were not choices that I would have entertained staying in. They were not very nice places and they charged for everything. For what you get with this chain of IHG hotels, to me is a 5 star service for a 3-star price. I will stay at Staybridge everytime they are an option for the city I am currently in.
Megan, Taylor, and Zach, Thanks again for everything and I hope to see you all again, sooner than later. Have a great rest of the year....
Read moreWe have stayed in a coupe other Staybridge hotels and have come to expect a certain quality. This hotel, is not that. TIME FOR A REMODEL!
The rooms are in disrepair. When we arrived, we noticed there was nowhere to unload at the front lobby and no slope off the curb anywhere for the luggage cart. Upon entering the suite and looking for silverware, I found the dishwasher clean but unloaded. As I put dishes away, the one skillet available was still dirty as the dishwasher could not clean off the stuck-on eggs.
The suite was somewhat tight, but we appreciated the full-size fridge and stove burner. The fold-out sofa is in-fact a single bed with a chaise (which worked for us because our kids are small still). The TV would not turn on in the bedroom (at check-in the front desk clerk was telling someone else on the phone that all she could tell them was to unplug it and plug it back in but not very concerned). I tried that and it eventually rebooted and functioned (but the remote did not work well). The USB port in the side table were broken, one of the reading lamps were burned out.
The mold/mildew in the bathroom was disgusting and maybe enough for us to leave if the room had been refundable (the top of the door frame in there has clearly not been wiped in years. I've never seen anything like it).
On our final day, I noticed the odd placement of the art in the bedroom (only over 1 of the beds) and looked more closely to see water streaks down the wall behind them...not sure if it's moisture from the bathroom or if the room had a leak at some point, but after 3 nights my husband's eyes were itching and my little one could not stop sneezing. The laundry facilities were free to use (HUGE BONUS), but there are only 2 working dryers. We noticed that this is a hotel frequented by long-term repeat clients that use those facilities regularly and we had to get up at dawn to have use of a machine. We ended up taking wet clothes on the road when we checked out bc there wasn't a dryer available.
The only redeeming qualities were the regular staff. Not the night we checked in (she was short and not helpful at all), but the nights following the front desk clerk was great! He was quick and efficient and very willing to help. And Vickie maintained breakfast daily (though with limited options) with a smile and...
Read moreI have been staying at the Staybridge Suites in Stow, Ohio every week (Monday - Thursday) for the last 8 months, and I can't stay enough about the wonderful staff! They are always friendly and responsive, especially Diamanti who checks me in every Monday evening with my document in hand and a smile on his face, making me feel right at home.
Last week, however, I checked-in Monday morning vs Monday evening...after driving 1500 miles from Texas to Los Angeles over the weekend...and taking a red-eye flight from Los Angeles to Cleveland...and driving another 45 minutes to get to the Staybridge! I arrived at approximately 10:00 in the morning looking like something the cat dragged in. I was praying that I could check-in early, so I could get a warm shower and a little rest before heading to the office. Unfortunately, last Monday was the day of the eclipse (April 8th), and with Cleveland being on the path of totality, the hotel was completely booked. No checking in early for me. Exhausted and crushed, I dragged my pitiful self to the dining area and pulled out my laptop to try to stay awake. I was fairly warned that the wait could be 3 - 4 hours. I honestly didn't know how I was going to make it. I found myself eye-balling the sofa in the conference area wondering if it would be rude for me to cuddle up for a little nap, but I resisted!
As I was waiting patiently, I was welcomed by two of my favorite people, Vicky (sets out the breakfast) and Willy (handles all the maintenance). Willy noticed that I was looking a bit disheveled with my suitcase sitting next to me and my laptop in front of me. He asked how I was doing. I shared my sob story, and I literally saw a lightbulb pop up over his head! He asked me to wait there while he spoke to Tracy at the front-desk. Within 2 minutes, he was back to tell me that they had a room for me!!! Evidently, he just finished repairing a heating/cooling unit in one of the rooms that was taken off-line. He told me that it was clean and ready to go!!!! I could have hugged him!!!! Instead, I felt compelled to share my story with the IGH/Staybridge leadership to commend you for having such a wonderful and caring staff, especially my hero...Willy! Thanks to him, I will continue to call Staybridge my home-away-from-home!
With Sincere...
