Unfornately, I do not have a rave review for this location. I attempted to stay here a few weeks ago for some R&R and because I was going to some festivities in the area. I checked the discount rate a few times before booking. Once my plans were confirmed, I booked. On the day of my reservation I proceeded to the hotel. I had to stop and check my emails as I was waiting on an e-ticket for something else, and to my surprise I had received an email from the hotel stating that my "booked" discounted rate could not be honored and that I could only stay if I paid the increase.
The new rate was almost 3 times what I had booked at. Mind you; I am getting this email and I am 20 minutes away from the hotel to start my mini vacation. Check in time is 3 pm. I received the email at 3:20 pm.
I called to inqure about the rate change and was told by the assistant manager that they do not accept discounts from "locals" but I could stay if I paid more. In all the years that I have stayed at Marriott properties I had never heard this nonsense. I was appallled and understandably frustrated because my discount was accepted and booking confirmed. When I questioned the increase and the "locals" statement, I was met with technical jargon, dismissiveness, rude tone, and rushed off by saying "the higher ups" do not make any exception to this rule.
Please know that I understand properties have the right to make their policies but to allow me to book, start traveling to the location, and almost triple my rate is absurd. They had all day to call me. My number is on file. Since my address was "profiled" to consider me a "local", someone should have also taken time to give me a courtesy call.
I was told the morning staff missed my reservation as to why I did not get an email sooner. This was all the more reason that my booking should have been honored because the staff errored not me.
I could say more but I will stop here...
My apologies for lengthly review but I hope this is used as training tool. Thanks to the hotel cancelling my reservation, it took time to find another budget-friendly rate resulting in me missing one of...
Read moreTwo night stay to visit with family. Booked here based on other reviews and want to share our experience.|There is much to say about how clean our room was. It felt not new, but almost new. Like maybe the whole place was renovated in recent years. Had booked two queens. One was surprisingly lumpy. I mean - it had visible lumps under the covers, so we chose to use the other. Bathroom and shower spotless. And bonus - a shower head I could easily stand under and not bend. For those who are height challenged, maybe not so much a bonus. Shower also had four settings easy to adjust. If I had to be really picky - please take down the three soap and shampoo dispensers on the shower wall. Makes it impossible to turn around without banging into them.|Apart from the room, the front lobby clean and welcoming. My only (sort of) negative would be the breakfast area. While there is plenty of seating, the four different stations were so close to each other that there seemed to be traffic jams of folks trying to make a waffle or toast a bagel. To be fair, there's little they can do, and everyone seemed to get it and helped each other out reaching for things. |Although I didn't use either, they have a generous sized pool and gym both on the main floor that seemed to always be in use. |Location is also a plus. Just a minute off the highway with a good sized restaurant/bar a minute walk and a coffee shop and gas station all right there. Since we were driving from Boston and back, all of these were welcome extras.|From our short stay, I can say there were really no significant strikes against, and much to appreciate for its condition and location that I would certainly...
Read moreThe room was nice I booked a king suite . The pool is only allowed 10 people at a time even if your not swimming which is no problem I’m guessing due to Covid. Its a very small pool anyways. But they don’t have an exceeding time limit so while me and a couple family members stayed there we were told to sign in, in order to gain access to the pool but had to wait 3 hours just to be able to go in because again there’s no time limit for the guest to leave the pool which is not particularly fair or even realistic with a packed hotel. We didn’t get to the pool until like 9pm they close at 11 and we had 4-10 year old kids so it was annoying having to swim with them that late. When we got back to our room of course we were eating and getting the children ready for bed The front desk called me twice around 10:30 asking could I keep my kids quiet due to it being other guest which was not realistic since we had gotten in so late.Around about 11:30 when my kids were sleeping I got another call stating that There were more complaints about my room when i asked what noise could she be referring to she was talking about me walking i guess the person under me said they could hear me walking. At this point I was furious and honestly considered getting my money back and going home. But my 4 and 6 year old were sleep so we exchanged words and I made sure to leave a review about our horrible stay it’s a very nice hotel but not if you want to relax and go swimming or have small children it’s mainly for business or Older couples I definitely...
