Arbors of streetsboro is one of the worst nursing homes and rehabilitation places around. I am a current resident here for rehab and am currently looking to transfer to another rehab place very soon. I've only been here a little over 3 months and this place is going down hill fast. Please do not send any loved ones here for any type of care. This place is a big scam! Even the pictures they have for the Google search are not correct. The rooms and the build do not look as what the pictures show. A few of the pictures are photoshopped. This place was currently rated a five star. They had to rate themselves because nobody in their right mind would rate this place a five star. The staff here from top to bottom does not care about the residents. They do the very minimum to get by. Most of the aids do not do their job. They sit around and it's a struggle to get help from them. They don't even want to help make a bed. The nursing staff here is just about horrible. Only 3 or 4 nurses actually do their job. The nurses think giving out medicine is the only thing that is important. People here need dressings done and the nurses don't want to do that or if they do it it's done half way. As a resident we have to ask over and over for anything to be done and if and when they decide to help the nurse or aid has a problem helping. The food here is horrible. I don't know where they get some of it at. It constantly makes residents sick. We had a week straight here recently where the air conditioning wasnt working in most of the building. In some parts it was in the 80's and even 90's in one hall. This place had to take some residents to the hospital because it was so hot in their rooms. And still there are places in the building where the air doesn't work. On top of the air not working, some residents don't have hot water in their rooms. It's a'll forms of nursing home neglect. This place tries to put out a good image but it's all lies. This building is not properly cleaned. I recently was moved to another room and since I've been in this new room, my room had only been cleaned twice in 2 weeks and the rooms should be cleaned everyday. As the weeks go by more and more of this place is stinking. This place allows some residents to keep food in their rooms that have mold growing on it. The mold then is in the air getting circulated thru the vents. This could cause people to get sick. This place really needs to clean up their act. The state should come in unannounced to inspect this place. When the state does come they tell them and they make sure this place is top shape and everyone acts like their working. Some people that come in to visit may not notice all this neglect but take if from someone that's a...
Read moreI have been a nurse for 32 years. My job was to assess behavior patients for our mental health units. I went to nursing homes all over ohio. People who work in these homes take care of patients who cant feed themselves, shower themselves many cant walk, have behaviors spit on kick hit curse at staff who are underpaid and overworked and under appreciated because we feel its not an important job to take care of our loved ones. How many of you have tried lifting these people into chairs or beds. Changing pts who play in their feces and smear it all over the walls. The staff who work in these places can go to any restaurant and have a much easier less stressful job. But they don’t. They stay at these places because they have become these residents families and most love their pts. Its easy to pick on and complain about nursing homes. Ambulance chasing lawyers run commercial encouraging you to sue these people who you have given the hard task of taking care of your loved ones. Maybe once in a while you should thank these people instead of criticizing them. I have been at the Arbors of Streetsboro for almost a year. The staff to patient ratio is about the best I've seen. Prestige which owns the building hasn’t cut the staff. Many patients in nursing homes have difficult behaviors ie: attention seeking, combative, hallucinating which takes a lot of time giving care to these pts because our wonderful government closed all the state facilities down for the mentally ill. So what does the state do? Come in and fine these facilities because they dont have the proper training to take care of these types of residents. The staff at the Arbors do a wonderful job with a difficult task. Maybe the facilities should fine the state for putting all of us in...
Read moreMy mother was at Arbor's for 2 weeks to rehab after being at UH Portage County for a week. The staff was always friendly, helpful and accommodating. However, there were 4 people that shined and made a lasting impression on my wife and me. Nonie and Dar will always be special because of the friendship and bond they have with my mom. Oliver is a great human being. Very polite and caring. Always visited and checked on my mom when we were there. TeShauna went above and beyond regarding paperwork between Arbor's and the hospital. She kept in contact with me regarding the paperwork. I witnessed her on the phone with the hospital and the other person wasn't being very friendly. She handled it LIKE A BOSS!!! I wouldn't have been so calm and professional. Lauren was friendly, upbeat, caring and very empathetic. She always communicated with my wife and I regarding information about my mom's medication and what the Nurse Practioner said. Monica was and is OUTSTANDING. To say she was great would be an understatement. She is very empathetic, kind hearted and compassionate. She kept in touch even when she wasn't at work. If I was the owner of Arbor's Streetsboro, I'd give them a raise before another facility does. Talented, caring and compassionate professional individuals...great human beings..are hard to find. We met 4 at...
