I first off would like to say ive never been treated this way ever by a management person in my life I was shopping st the sturbrdge Massachusetts walmart this evening While doing this we saw a big stuffed animal in a big bin opened in the middle of the floor so we put it in our cart After walking around and filling our cart for about 45mins it was time for check out On the way to the register several employees informed us the stuffed animal couldnt be purchased until midnight on thanksgiving due to black friday. Since not a single sign was out stating this and the vast majority of items on the sales floor were for black friday This made no sense to us so we went to the service desk to talk to the manager On the way to the service desk another employee physically stopped our carriage to remove the item out of our cart on her own. Like anyone would do when someone invades thier personal space my girlfriend put her hand on the item to stop her and said "we are going to talk to the manager to see if anyone can explain why items are on the sales floor yet we cant buy them? When my girl did this the employee who first claimed she was the manager then literally grabbed her arm and tried to rip her hand off the product and didnt let go until my girl told her not stop touching her Only then the employee let go of her arm/wrist and allowed us to continue to the service desk When the actually store manager sterling came over (with an attitude) he said there were signs saying the item was a black friday item and we couldnt buy it intil midnight the following day I asked him to show me the signs When we walked over the only sign said black Friday merchandise No signs anywhere saying we couldnt purchase the item until Black Friday When I questioned this he became very rude and had a hostile attitude And just kept saying the items were out because employees in the state of mass cant be on the clock after midnight seeing as the walmart in oxford is 24hrs and their website says they are open on thanksgiving i asked him again Why they would put out items we cant buy for another 30+ hrs without any signs? He then said they dont have to and at least a thousand ppl today alone have been told the same thing So i asked him why would you not put up a sign saying you couldn't buy these items rather than upset customers His answer was he didnt have to and he wont My girl then asked if she called the corporate office would they say the same thing or just have him sell us the stuffed animal she also informed him about the employee grabbing her arm He did nothing he wouldnt even let her show him who the employee was who did it (Yes all this over a stuffed animal for a little kid ) At this point He said if we didnt leave he would call the police and have us banned from the store Keep in mind all we wanted to do was spend money and have someone tell us what we could do as far as getting the stuffed animal we have to work at the time these items are able to be purchased and the kiddo would love it All we wanted was some answers and help Theres is a bit more to this story however this review is already far too long In the end we left without the stuffed animal spent about 140$ and a female employee (a young woman with dark hair and tatoos on her arms ) calling my girlfriend a "f--ing b-tch" loud enough for us to hear it and her and another employee and sterling mean mugging us the whole way to checkout Never again will i buy anything here unless i have no choice And as far as ppl like sterling if you cannot deal with the public you shouldn't be management for a business that deals with the public if i ever treated any customer like we were treated id have no job this all happened in the middle of the sales floor in front of a group of customers and employees alike All of this could have been avoided if they had a single sign saying when you could purchase the items Stores have black friday sales before actual black friday all the time so a single sign saying Black Friday merchandise does nothing Just...
Read moreI used to go to this Wal-Mart years ago for my shopping needs when I lived in the town of Sturbridge for a short time. However, this has never been my favorite Wal-Mart for several reasons. It's small in comparison to others, this is not a super center Wal-Mart & only has limited food such as canned, some frozen. No bakery, produce, meat, etc. Also the store itself is a mess. They are very sloppy in how they stock items. I had to go yesterday because we dined nearby & needed a few things. I went to grab a package of 3 baby wipes & a box almost fell onto my head. A nearby couple shopping had a similar experience with a box of diapers. They also had a box of diapers just sitting on the floor & jar of pickles in food area. Things like this are common for this particular Wal-Mart & neatness is not their specialty! Employees are very rude here for the most part. I accidentally walked inside the wrong entrance with my fiance & was told by an older man who worked there that we actually had to leave the store & go all the way around to the proper entrance. Which is utterly ridiculous to make customers do in the middle of Winter, on a freezing cold day. He simply could've brought it to our attention & ask that next time we use the correct door, but making us go back outside in the frigid cold, all because we made a simple mistake (once we were almost inside the store already!) was uncalled for & he was very rude about it also! I'm sorry if you're not happy with your job, but don't take it out on paying customers please! I wish I had gotten his name to complain to management. What if I had been elderly or disabled? In fact, I have been in severe pain for months with tendonitis in my shoulder & he added an inconvenience, because we were on a time limit, by making what was supposed to be a quick stop even longer, all because he had a personal problem with us using the wrong entrance. It happened because we aren't used to shopping there & hadn't been in many years, plus we had stopped before entering to put our masks on. It's not like we were disrespectful teens doing it to rebel or anything foolish. Very unnecessary! Anyhow, from now on I'll shop elsewhere...another problem is they put clearance racks immediately upon entering, which is a major mishap, because people crowd the area, blocking the path to shop in other directions. Not the best idea! They also frequently follow you around the store, as if they think you're planning to steal. Bad for business. If you like Wal-Mart, you're much better off going to a better, cleaner, more organised location with friendlier staff such as the Leicester location. I've never had trouble with that store. But Sturbridge gives...
Read moreThis Walmart is dirty. Not in THAT way, you naughty rascals, but literally filthy. Like there is dirt on the floor and duty dust. I will list everything I hate about the place. • Dirty floors. • I saw a Mario Kart motorized small plastic car for children and it wasn't there the second time I went. I wanted it even though I am an adult person. STOP JUDGING ME, WALMART!!!! • They judge. • I saw a woman wearing a Walmart uniform with white stripper heels...why. • This location attracts severely strange people. I know everyone's different, but these people seem criminally different. There's some yelling and very nasty looks from these folks. I always see a girl with Stewie pajama pants from Family Guy like every time I go in there in the daytime. • There's a Subway in here. I love Subway however how clean is a Subway that's in a Walmart? I like that it's there but I question how dirty it is. • I don't like that lots of the employees seem like they hate being there. Unsettling. INSULTING. There's a middle aged dude I always see there. Maybe he doesn't like working there because he spends every second of his life there. • Why are there so many middle aged people who work here? Mid life crisis??? That's the only way someone would voluntarily want to work here: mental problems. • THE WALMART GREETERS SUCK. Not trying to be offensive to the unbelievably old people who do this "job" but it can be creepy to see an elderly person attempt to waddle over to me out of the blue and say, "wanna sticker?" Nice offer, but why must this procedure be carried out in such a horrifying way? I guess it's better than candy which would be poisoned. Wait. That's why people work here willingly. Their candy is drugged. MK Ultra confirmed. Illuminati confirmed. • There's a scary boy who looks just like me who has gone here and reviewed this place on Google reviews. His name sounds a lil weird, see if you can find him. White vans. • Very limited pony selection. • All the cashiers are grumpy and tired. Gray clouds float over their airy heads.
Here are some pros about the place. • They have a great gardening section. • Lots of plants. • Employees know where items are located. • They usually have what I need. • They have a Subway here. That's it. Depressing, right? Damn, son. Sad. No sue. Copyright Brandon...
