Baker St Pub — Restaurant in Sugar Land

It was pretty much empty at that time. 12:30ish. We ordered at 12:41 and received food after 1:05. We ordered the shrimp tacos and patty melt and 2 waters. When we ordered the tacos he kept saying you get one side with that. I saw on the menu it was suppose to come with the tortilla chips and salsa. But he asked me to order a side. So I ordered the sweet potato fries. Not saying it was an extra charge of $1.50. I wanted just what came with it. There was no chips and salsa with the tacos as pictured. The patty melt was not on toasted bread but on a bun. We didn’t say anything cuz we were in a hurry. We then received the check for over $50 dollars. We bought it to his attention 1st he said he merged 2 tables bills by mistake and the manager would have to fix it. The manager never came out to say sorry. Then the waiter was blaming the ordering billing system was changed a couple weeks ago and had to be reset all the time cuz of mistakes. Which I don’t think was the case it was his mistake. We then had to wait for ticket to be fixed and pay. The whole experience was terrible and then we were late to the event at 2 pm. There was only 4-5 tables being served so not busy. make sure they serve what is ordered and not charged more than they order. I have photos attached what the patty melt photo looks like we received and what is on your menu. Our bill was $30 including the fries never told it was an extra charge. The staff should know what is on the menu and what is supposed to be to look like and trained better. I dont feel it was a great experience with us wanting...

This place would have gotten all the stars but one bartender ruined that experience for me. I’m going to state the positives first. The music was great! It was clean inside and the bathrooms were really clean as well. It wasn’t too packed and it was a Saturday night. I encountered two bartenders that night on 12/16/23. One of them, according to my receipt her name is Alexa A. She was wonderful! It was my first time there and I’m a wine drinker and she recommended a really good wine and every time I came to the bar she attended me in a timely manner.

Towards the end of the night I encountered another bartender who was an Asian woman. She was kind of tall. She was literally right in front of me completing another order and I waited and then she looked at me when she was done I asked if I could get a refill of the wine I was drinking. She rolled her eyes at me and then went to the other side of the bar and never came back over to me.

Alexa A was busy but when she saw me waiting she came over and asked if I was ok. I asked her for a refill and she pulled the wine from under the counter that was RIGHT in front of me and poured me a glass.

What’s up with your other bartender ?? That was so rude! I mean does she not like black people or something? I just don’t get why she was so rude to me like that and then to see the bottle was right in front of her. I had guests with me that saw the entire thing.

1/7/25: Excellent Happy Hour and Tuesday Specials! We used to frequent the Willowbrook location before it closed and decided to give the Sugarland spot a try. We arrived at 2 PM and stayed until 6 PM, enjoying the deals and food, though service was hit or miss.

Tuesday Special: $3 tacos. The bartender recommended the fried shrimp tacos, and they didn’t disappoint! The mayo has a creamy, mild kick, the mango habanero is sweet, and the carrot habanero packs a surprising but enjoyable heat. I started with 2 fried shrimp tacos, while my son had 1 beef and 1 fried shrimp. Later, my husband joined us and ordered 2 fried shrimp tacos, and my son enjoyed 2 more shrimp tacos.

Happy Hour: $3 Karbach Love Streets (listed on the menu) and $2.75 Michelob Ultra drafts (posted on the bar wall - available until 6 PM).

Service: Our first bartender (a guy) was excellent - prompt and attentive. Unfortunately, the second bartender (a gal) repeatedly ignored us, even though we stayed in the same barstools. We had to flag her down every time, which was frustrating. 😑

Billing: Make sure to double-check your bill. The $3 Karbach Love Streets were initially charged at a higher price, and they had to void the original bill to correct it, which removed about $10+ from the total.
