Did not feel welcomed in this store at all. We just drove down from SC & we’re in the vehicle for 7 hours. My husband is a 15 year medically retired firefighter that has a medical service dog. My husbands service dog is nationally registered, had her vest & ID badge on. The moment we walked in they were making faces at us & mumbling under their breath. My husband’s service dog had to go potty so as my husband was taking her outside the one lady decided to come follow me around the store as if I was doing something wrong. After going outside the lady from the front came outside to rudely tell my husband we couldn’t walk his service dog in the field we were in because it was posted no trespassing. If it was posted it was not posted in a way it can be seen from where we were. Any good dog parent picks up after their dog & the last thing we would have done is left a pile of poop in the field… she could clearly see the bright green poop bags on the leash.
If anyone in the store spent two minutes to talk to us, they would have known we were from out of town & unfamiliar with the area. We came here for the large Star Wars collection that was posted on the visit banner Elk facebook page & were prepared to spend a lot of money here to support a local business.
We instead left after feeling profiled and mistreated. If there was an issue with us being in the store , the owner could have spoken up & not waited for me to write a bad review from our experience. Instead of asking what my husbands service dog did … which we would have been more than happy to explain her working job, they mumbled under their breath & made nasty...
Read moreI enjoy shopping at this antique store. There are so many interesting things! Lots of glass of varying types, some furniture, collectibles, toys, You will find something new every pass you make thru the store. The staff person usually there is not overly friendly. He will assist when asked. For example I wanted to see if a lamp worked and he found a bulb and plugged in and tried each spot for a bulb. I ended up not buying and there were no hard feelings. There is not a public restroom. The entrance is located on the back of the building. There is a fairly steep, narrow, bumpy lane to the back of the building where there is paved, level parking for about 4 to 5 cars. You enter and exit by this lane and there is only room...
Read moreThe gentleman that works here is no gentleman! While looking through the record section , which is in a small cramped room, he approached me very belligerently because I did not place a record back where I got it because another customer was browsing that section. He claimed I put another record back in the wrong spot and he behaved very unprofessionally and was combative. We put the new record back that we were planning to purchase (most of the used ones had significant scratches) and promptly left the store. The guy proceeded to follow me through the store and out into the parking lot yelling at me. I will never return and would unfortunately not recommend this...
