I went in Macy’s because I have a huge gift card I want to spend. I was so excited because I wanted to find shoes and a dress for my Turks trip. I walked in the shoes department looked left and right on each side there where gentlemen. No one said a single word or smiled, then I went over to grab some boots the associate stared didn’t say a word walked past me 4 times never smiled. So I then walked over to women clothing passed two more associates no one said anything no smile nothing. So I passed thur cosmetics and perfume I heard someone say hello but they actually were talking to another associate. I took the escalator upstairs and walked around a little more just to see if I could find anything I wanted. No surprise a manager walked past me she didn’t speak. Finally as I’m heading towards the escalator to leave I’m approached by Randy Holguin an Macys Associate I know him because he was just a extremely nice polite person when I worked with at William Sonoma. He was the only person who took time out to speak to me. He deserves a raise I know being black people assume I was there to steal something. 9 times out of 10 each of those associates and Manager that passed me made the decision I didn’t have money to spend. It’s upsetting that people just don’t say hello or can I help u with something? It’s just disappointing that the gift card I have I don’t know how I’m spend it at a place that doesn’t recognize that I even exist. I hope this sparks interest for Coporate Macys to do something or say something. FYI I worked for Macys years ago in NM do I know they all weren’t taught that behavior. That behavior is the culture...
Read moreI had the most phenomenal customer service experience with Sheila from the Home Department at Macy’s Summerlin.
As I prepare to return to Australia after 10 years in the States, one of my first tasks was to find the right suitcase, and Sheila made what could have been a stressful decision straightforward and even enjoyable. Her in-depth knowledge of different luggage brands was exceptional, and she guided me to the perfect Samsonite case with genuine care and expertise.
But it didn’t stop there. I also needed quality bed sheets, and once again, Sheila’s wealth of experience shone through. She took the time to understand what I needed and helped me make the ideal choice.
Over the span of a month, I visited the store multiple times, and each time Sheila greeted me with the same warmth, patience, and professionalism. She has a rare aura of approachability—nothing is ever too much trouble. In an age where great service can feel rare, Sheila goes above and beyond, every single time.
What truly sets her apart is her attitude. Despite being a long-term Macy’s team member—where many might burn out—Sheila remains deeply engaged, passionate, and committed to treating every customer with dignity and respect. She is a shining example of what outstanding service looks like.
If Macy’s has an Employee of the Month award, please give it to Sheila. She absolutely deserves it. And more than that, Macy’s should look to Sheila as the gold standard for customer experience. What a...

If you plan on buying a dress, prepare yourself to wait 45min for a fitting room due to all those dragging dozens of formal gowns in to play dress up. None of them intended on buying anything as they clearly stated. Shouldn’t there be a limit when there’s a line and only 3 rooms? Shouldn’t there be an attendant? This is not a rare occurrence here.
When you go to check out, it’s a puzzle who can work. The cashiers at 3:30pm on Sunday May 14 were just chatting. As the line built up to 4 people the lady not working decided she could hop on a register all of a sudden. However, she didn’t ask for the next person in line. She went to the second person in line and motioned for her to come to her register. Why did she skip the next person in line? When the person mentioned she was next. The cashier said “no this lady was”. Everyone in line acknowledged the cashier was wrong. No apology just “you will be next with the other cashier”.
Once you buy a dress, prepare for the cashier to toss in it into a bag after asking if you want it hung. I answered “yes hung please.” After I told her I said I wanted it hung, she gave me the hanger.
