A review of SoundTronic of Superior, Wisconsin. On June 2nd, 2025, I requested a bid for the installation of a new stereo and a backup camera for my truck camper. The truck camper was parked on the street in front of the building. The clerk never introduced himself, never left his desk and only looked at the truck camper through the store window from the counter. I only learned his name after it was printed on the bid. I gave him my driver license for information rather than the back and forth of spelling and misspelling. The clerk put down that my name was Lee, it isn’t. I paid $309 for a deposit, and we agreed on 0900 hours on June 16th, 2025. I arrived at 0915 hours, yes, I was late, circumstances forced me to be a whole 15 minutes late. Tim, (I believe his name was Tim because it was on the bid but he never introduced himself or wore a name tag) looked at his watch and looked at me from over his glasses demonstrating his disapproval of my being late. I received a phone call at 1045 hours saying the job was completed.
The dash trim had been previously removed by me. The USB cable shown here was placed in a manner that would not allow for the reinstallation of the dash trim. On the center console of the cab, I found the microphone still in the bag. This is the microphone for making telephone calls through the stereo. A second payment of $341.91 for a grand total of $650.91. Prior to leaving I decided to test the backup camera. I’m glad I did because the camera had not been installed. I returned inside to ask about the installation of the camera. Tim announced that he must have forgotten to put it on the work order notes. About 10 minutes later Tim emerged from the workshop and reported that the wires for the camera are not long enough to reach the back of the camper. The total length of the truck camper from bumper to bumper is approximately 24 feet. The length from about the stereo head to the rear bumper of the camper was approximately 17 feet. Tim recommended that I, the customer, search the internet and find an extension for the camera cable. I questioned if this part exists. I further questioned why I, the customer, have to locate this part. Was the wiring to the camera truly too short or, did Tim simply not want to install it as it would have been more work. The following day I decided I was not happy with the service and lack of installation and so I returned to SoundTronics with the stereo in hand after removing it myself. I requested a refund and Tim moved to an office to close the door and call the owner. Tim returned and requested my telephone number so the owner could call me later and discuss the return. I received a telephone call about 48 hours later but, was at work and unable to answer. I have not received another call since. I found it interesting that Tim had to write down my telephone number, is it not in their computer? Tim took pictures of the stereo and wiring before dismissing me with the stereo and no return completed. Later in the afternoon it occurred to me that I never received the factory stereo I had replaced and had to return to SoundTronics to retrieve it. I hope this review helps the next person before they conduct business with SoundTronics. If SoundTronics responds to this review claiming to have never done business with me, that would be a lie. If they say the parts were installed correctly or even installed that would...
Read moreAmazing experience! Honestly, I should have went to this shop in the first place. Had an aftermarket unit installed on my 2012 Toyota Sequoia at a different (well-reviewed) shop and discovered some of my features did not work. Long story short, it was a shoddy install that I paid over $2K for. In all fairness, the other shop offered to repair the mistakes but I wanted to avoid them. Dustin from SoundTronics reached out to me and I ended up having my install repaired here. Customer service and integrity is very important to me. They took the time to explain the features of the unit, how it all worked and what was repaired or missed from the other shop. I won't name the other shop to avoid ( I plan to review them also), but if you need a good aftermarket unit with fantastic customer service and a solid knowledge base, please give this shop a call - you will be blown away by the entire experience. I can't say thank you enough for treating me with respect (female with limited auto mechanical knowledge), listening to my concerns and repairing the issues with the previous shop. I would recommend you folks to anyone and you definitely have our families business from...
Read moreTerrible place to go if you are looking to save any money, They up-charge on everything in the store, the customer service was very misleading as they want to act like your friend so that you almost forget they just charged you 4x as much as was promised. If you ever brung your car/truck/bike in. Be very specific and what you want/need to be done or they will just give you it back saying they did…. and charge you more! Watch out for these folks very scammy., When I asked whats wrong they blamed it on loose wiring and no electrical tape, That was not the case as I watched them get put in so the just removed the tape and tried telling me I had to replace everything so that they could make more money, Im just glad my buddy could resolve it. the picture shown below shows ,the worker Dustin there that has no idea what he is doing and is very incompetent, said that thats how my wired looked before they even touched anything but that was very much not the case as he didnt know I watched them get put in the first time. They tried blaming their mistakes and they problems on other people to try to get me to spend more money there. Shameful. Honestly just find...
