We were at Wissota 8/29. Spontaneous date night with my fiance. He’s really good at finding cool spots. The atmosphere was very inviting & intimate. We didn’t have reservations but it was after 6pm on a Thursday so we got a spot right away. The host seated us with Heather who is fricken awesome!! For starters we ordered an old fashion and espresso martini which was absolutely amazing! The bread & butter with charcoal pepper and himalayan salt was unlike anywhere I’ve ever been before. We ordered crab cakes for the appetizer which were delicious and aesthetically pleasing. I ordered the bolognese and he got the swordfish special of the day. Both flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. He ate his all gone and I had lunch for the next day. Then of course dessert… raspberry tiramisu. YUM! Heather was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us her best recommendations from start to finish. She was personable, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of and pleased with our experience! Her service was exceptional, attentive, and flawless. I could tell she genuinely loves her job and the patrons she serves. Wissota Chop House is a gem. We had an exceptional dining experience! We will be back!

This was a perfectly average restaurant. I wouldn’t go again, but it was fine to come to once. The tables for two are in general too small for the size of the plates, multiple glasses and silverware. There was also strange Kenny G-style music playing that would cut out randomly and didn’t fit with the ambiance of the restaurant at all. The service was pleasant but very slow. The menu does skew pretty expensive, and I found the food hit and miss given that price point. I’m fine paying for a good dinner, but the quality needs to at least be consistent. Good tap and cocktail list, with some nice wine options. The bone marrow appetizer was delicious, but was on a flat slate board which caused grease and oil to leak out all over the (small) table, causing a mess our waitress had to mop up. Ordered a salad with our dinner, and it was oppressively sweet. I’m not sure why the dressing needed to be sickly sweet but it absolutely was. Couldn’t finish it. The wagyu burger was pretty good! Would come back for that. The fries it came with were awful though, also couldn’t finish those. Overall, not super impressed. I don’t think we’ll be back for dinner, but maybe drinks.

We had an incredible dinner at Wissota Chophouse. From start to finish, everything was top-notch. Our server, Heather, was outstanding, professional, friendly, and truly made us feel welcome. Her exceptional service elevated our night from a great meal to an unforgettable event. The crab cakes were a perfect starter. They were crispy and flavorful. My entrée was the swordfish special, which was beautifully prepared. I also tried some of my Fiancé’s bolognese pasta, which was rich and satisfying. We ended with the raspberry tiramisu, which was a light, very tasty, twist on a classic. Drinks were also a highlight. My old fashioned was perfectly balanced to my preference. The espresso martini was bold and smooth. What also stood out, beyond the exceptional service and food, was the value. Compared to similar restaurants in the Twin Ports area, the prices are very reasonable for the quality and atmosphere. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

What an absolute buzzkill. This was the worst meal and service I have ever had from a high end restaurant establishment. I was staying in Superior for my Bachelorette weekend and saw the menu at this place and was SO excited to visit, but boy what a disappointment.

There was six gals who had dinner here and one person enjoyed her meal (she got a Caesar salad). We are non drinkers, so I asked if they had "mocktails", to which the waitress said - "yeah they are on the menu." They offer two n/a beers - instead maybe suggest a sparkling lemonade, or another beverage with the flavorings you offer for signature cocktails (peach puree/huckleberry syrups) minus the booze. She didn't even let us know if they had Coke or Pepsi products.

Three of us started with soup, which took 20 minutes to get. The lobster bisque was served lukewarm at best - and while the French onion soup was served hot, it was flavorless.

For our meal we were upsold on the steaks, as the waitress explained the 5 oz petite filet couldn't be cooked properly to ensure a medium rare finish - to which two gals switched to the 10 oz and regretted. We also ordered the sides to share for the table (asparagus/brussels/bacon truffle mac & cheese/truffle fries). The only hit for our entire meal WAS the truffle fries - they were wonderful. But when they say "parmesan crusted" Brussels Sprouts - they mean fake parmesan sprinkled on top. One of the gals had to send her meal of the regular truffle mac and cheese back to the kitchen because of the tepid temperature. I am usually one of "those people" who loves to take photos of my meals, and with the lackluster appearance of everything - I didn't want to share this meal with anyone.

The waitress seemed very frazzled and rushed the entire time - and they weren't busy, the restaurant was actually quite empty... we were one of maybe five tables. Our water glasses were empty the majority of time. When we received our bills the waitress then engaged with our table and asked if we were out celebrating anything... two hours too late. Yes it took 2 hours from the time we sat down, until the time we left. We had other activities on our docket for the evening so were frustrated with the amount of time we spent waiting. To top it off - one of the guests was overcharged. We reached out to the restaurant to inquire about the issue - and after leaving a voicemail we have yet to receive a call back with an...

Hello All, I Live near Los Angeles but I like to spend my summers in the northland. Here goes my honest review.

I have only been here once and I went by myself. I ordered the 14oz Ribeye. The server asked if I wanted any sides and I asked what my options were. She informed me that any side was additional. I quickly looked at the sides list to find them over $11 a piece. Having sticker shock from that, I decided to just get the steak as it already seemed quite large. She proceeded to ask If I wanted onions or mushrooms on the steak and I said both please.

I received my steak perfect for what I expected to be cooked medium. The onions were caramelized to perfection and the mushrooms exceeded my expectations. All in all it took me quite a while to finish the steak, it was large, and really I am glad I had not ordered any sides. I was full even dare I say Stuffed. After my meal reflecting back I was thinking that I could not remember the last time I had a better steak, it was equally on par with some really great steak houses I frequent in and around Los Angeles.

The came the check, I was charged $12 additional dollars for the onions and mushrooms. but was never informed upfront of the additional charges. :( So in summary I had one steak with no sides and a glass of water ( Yes I like water with my meals, and side note the water was very very good!) for $63. For this reason I only give 3 stars. I think this establishment should figure a way to incorporate some default sides and not make everything Alacarte at those prices. Prices are way to metropolis and not enough Superior WI.

The staff was friendly and nice The facility looks great and modern I do suggest it and would recommend going with the expectation that a good dinner and a couple of drinks is going to be very very spendy here. While this is indeed a great steakhouse, there are just so many other options in Superior/Duluth at a better price point, sadly I won't be coming back that...

We usually love this restaurant, and have eaten here several times. That said, it's EXPENSIVE so for us it's a special occasion meal. Our last experience was very disappointing, and I think we will probably not be back. (Side note-this is the third time I've written this review very interesting that it keeps disappearing) We came to eat on Friday the 28th of February. From our arrival we felt like an inconvenience and an after thought. Despite there being several empty tables in the main room we were put on a tiny table to the side of where a large party was dining in the side room. It was dark and the table ended up being very crowded. Our predinner cocktails took almost 20 minutes to arrive and our server (AJ) seemed very apathetic and indifferent. I should mention that she was NOT the server for the large party next to us. We were her only table on that side of the restaurant. We ordered our steaks and sides and I asked for a glass of wine with my food. She asked me to remind her later that I wanted it....maybe at Applebees that would be ok but this is an expensive restaurant-the steak alone was 52 dollars! When our food came my steak was cooked correctly but fairly flavorless. My husband's steak was raw, and cold. We had to send it back. I DID end up having to remind her that I wanted a glass of wine...and one of our two sides (the brussells sprouts) was undercooked. The blue cheese risotto was delicious but it was the only thing we really enjoyed about our meal. For 215 dollars we should have had better service, food that was cooked correctly, and a table that we actually fit at. Will not return-there are better meals to be had at anywhere, really. Maybe I'll try Applebees next, the steak there can't...
