Read moreWe visited this shop once before in seek of a good butcher shop and found it to be one to try. So, we revisited in hopes of making a purchase. The staff, Chad, Shandra, and Manny treated us like family. We purchased "The Dinner Planner $165", which consisted of 4 lbs. ground beef, 5 lbs. any round roast, 2 ranch steaks, 4 pork chops, 4 chicken breasts, and 2 lbs. pork bacon. Since it was a few days before the 4th of July, they were out of chicken breasts and Chad was very apologetic and asked if we could return the next day. The shop is very clean. They have a wide variety of just about all cuts of meat. What also caught our eye was the products for dogs. Both of our kids have dogs, but one lives in New Hampshire and the other in Austin, TX. So, we asked if they would ship out any of their products and they replied when they first opened, the manager tried it but it became too costly. We were hoping to send a meat pkg to our kids as well as for their dogs. I cooked the bacon we purchased and we LOVED it! We decided to purchase all of our meats from this shop from this point on vs Costco or Sam's. As soon as we purchase another freezer...we will be purchasing one of the range-fed beef cuts and the whole pig pkgs. They are local, convenient, professional and will answer any questions. Also, thank you Manny for explaining the differences between grain fed...

We bought two large pieces of meat out of the freezer, one jar of spice off of the shelf and yes, we did purchase some fresh sausage out of the case that had to be placed in butcher paper. The gal tried to get us to tip TWICE when my husband asked a question. I know Troub's is not the only place that does this, but stop. Just stop. We helped ourselves to almost everything and you rang us up. What the heck are we tipping for? Troubs, just don't let your employees ask! Remove that item from your iPad menu or if it is written into the software, then instruct your employees to just click "No Tip" themselves before asking us to pay.
It's not like we asked for ten different types of meat, all to be weighed and sliced and measured tipping should not have been an option. You rang us up. That's it. Nothing...
