I’m a 51 year old man that works with leather. I had no real knowledge of sewing and sewing machines. I took the Adult Sewing class. It’s a 4 class series which covers basically every technique and bits of knowledge one would need to sew. Things like how to use the machine, basic sewing techniques, different stitches, darts & seams, and zippers & buttons.

Courtenay is extremely knowledgeable. I have yet to ask a question that she didn’t know the answer to. She is warm, friendly and extremely patient. She has a relax energy about her yet really gets you excited to learn. She is uplifting and gives you the confidence to succeed. I strongly recommend taking her class if you are wanting to learn how to sew. I’ve gone from having a complete lack of knowledge to knowing making sling bags and backpacks. This is only after taking the basic course. She even gave me some positive critiques of my work and gave me excellent pointers on how to improve. I will be taking more classes with her and continue to grow and learn. Again, if you are looking for a wonderfully positive uplifting environment to have fun and learn to sew I can’t recommend Threaded from Heaven strongly enough. I'll post a picture of the first sling bag I attempted before I even finished the course and a leather bag liner I was able to sew with no difficulties. I do a lot of sewing but had decided that I needed to take some lessons because I really wanted my projects to look professional. So I got online and looked for somewhere to get private lessons. I saw an article in the Gwinnett paper that showcased Threaded from Heaven so I contacted the owner and set up some private lessons. Boy was I delighted and amazed. She taught me so many tips and helpful things from tweaking things on my machine to sewing with the popular fabrics that are difficult to sew with. She listened to my goals and gave me some valuable advice and had great insight about my projects. She knows sewing inside and out and together with her sense of humor and great ideas - I was very pleased and happy with my lessons with her. I am going to schedule some more lessons soon....

I've been thinking about dusting off my sewing machine and beginning to create again, but it's been over 30 years since I've threaded a bobbin. I visited the website and looked over the classes - the most convenient thing for me was to schedule a private lesson. I easily registered for the class online. The day before, I received a personal reminder call (a nice touch). The day of my appointment I was greeted warmly by the owner and we got right to work. I brought my manual, but she knew my machine like it was her own. She is a great teacher and very funny and helped boost my confidence.
