Eastern China Taste — Restaurant in Suwanee

As someone that frequently orders Chinese, I have been looking for a go to spot on the Northside. We have literally tried all of the ones in the area but all have been a miss. I went searching for a spot with taste, cleanliness, and customer service and saw the reviews for Eastern. It lives up to the hype. There is no inside seating. I ordered inside to take a look at the place and they have had all A's on their health scores. There is a microphone you order through. Not many people in the place at once, but there was traffic in and out which is a great sign. The customer service was welcomeing, convenient , and very nice. Even 30 minutes before closing they took our order with a smile.

We ordered the General tso, Szechuan chicken, sesame chicken, and shrimp fried rice combination dinners. All of the staple US Chinese in which you would judge a spot, right?

The chicken was fresh and well seasoned. The portions were perfect. The sauce was the right amount and just spicy enough on the general and the Szechuan. The fried rice was the best I have had since visiting New York a couple years ago! Well seasoned and not bland like the others in the area. This place reminds me of the spots I grew up with on the Southside or even in Snellville. Food was amazing and the prices were good for the portions.

01/10/2026 - I have been a loyal customer to this establishment for a few years. My post below is when I first came across the restaurant - 10/10. Since 2020, the quality of food had slowly been declining. The only items that are good are the egg rolls and fried rice. The past few visits, the General Tao’s chicken CAN’T BE same day fresh-made chicken. It’s hard and chicken tastes old. They are quick to say NO REFUNDS, but expect customers to eat old food!! I would rather wait the time to have fresh food cooked for the prices I’m paying!! I can make better fried rice and Tso’s chicken buying it from Trader Joe’s than what I have gotten from this establishment. Extremely disappointing!!

The last two times I have ordered from this restaurant the results have been the same. One order was chicken and broccoli with fried rice and it was nothing more than a lot of rice and vegetables with just a 4-5 slices of chicken. I actually had to look for the chicken. The dish was 95% percent just vegetables and rice. If you are expecting meat in your dish you will be disappointed. The most recent I ordered the chicken and cashews had the exact same thing happene again. The container was filled primarily with rice and vegetables with no more than 5 thin slices of chicken. As others have mentioned about this as well they are spot on correct. Although, the food is cooked fresh to order I will not be going back simply because you do not get what you pay for. If I wanted vegetables and rice I would order that. You have been warned and they need to adjust their meat portions because this is a RIPOFF. ...
