Round Table Pizza — Restaurant in Tacoma

We bring our family here often and up until today we have always had a fantastic experience, shoot we drive an hr one way just to come to this location. Sadly today, Sierra who we have never seen here was beyond rude to not only my husband and I but my 8 yr old and other customers. I did talk to the manager who by the way is always amazing and polite and knows I have never complained here in the 6+ yrs we've been coming. But I am just flabbergasted on how she talks to customers and how she rolls her eyes and acts like customers are a huge inconvenience. When we ordered, we ordered two pizzas one we said we'd like in a box so we could take it home and both pizza's with light sauce, well she brings out the one that should have been boxed and when I just simply said "oh I need that one boxed and it was supposed to have light sauce she rolled her eyes and stormed off then brought it back in a box without fixing the sauce issue, and then she comes back out with the other pizza that was for here tosses it on the table in a box, tosses paper plates on the table and storms off. My husband asked her while she was storming off if she was trying to get rid of us and she rolled her eyes again and said now you won't need a box later...... ummmm ok.... When I walked up to find the manager she straight up goes "ugh not this lady" and goes in the kitchen and hides until the cook told her there was also other customers waiting. I am just really concerned about this location with her working here, the manager who is amazing and I know has put alot of blood sweat and tears in making this a family friendly and respectful location so I would seriously hate for her to ruin this for him after he has worked so hard. I hope the GM and corporate see this so they can fix this before she ruins this location because we will not be back until she is gone, my son is legit scared to come back with her working her after the way she talked to him and that is so sad since this place has always been the place we take him too when he's done well in school or something like that which is why we came today, but as long as she is here we will have to find another location. 10-28-2022-Yep, new crew. Same dude cooking, but the ppl at the front counter...amazingly different from the first crew. The pizza was awesome, different variety and lots to choose from. Salad bar was stocked and fresh. The games are new, you buy a card now and front load it like Dave and Busters, no more tickets!! 6-22-2022-Looks like a new crew here. We went because my kid requested it for their last day of school lunch. We were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was clean, the pizzas were replenished often and with several varieties. The lady behind the counter was friendly and professional. 4-18-2022-The last 3 times we've been out for the lunch buffet it has been really disappointing. The salad buffet has wilting lettuce, or sour lettuce. And it's messy from other people using it and mixing food. The pizza takes forever to come out. When I visit for the lunch buffet I don't have all day. I have 1 hour, minus travel time. So it's disappointing when I can't get a meal from the buffet. Lately all they make for the buffet is cheese or cheese and pepperoni pizza. Gag! When I requested a pizza the unfriendly lady at the counter tells me she will tell the guy in the back, but it's not a guarantee. And of course, it wasn't be made. Today it was packed, and there was a delay of over 30 minutes while there was NO pizza at the buffet and no worker in sight. I don't think I'll be going back for a really long time. I'm leaving my last review attached. It's really gone downhill. 2019-I'm giving it a 5 star rating because I come here like 1-2 times a month for their lunch buffet. The people who work here are pretty nice and accommodating. Tables are generally cleaned quickly once people leave, or you can ask them to clear a table - they do it quickly and with a good attitude. Esp if you aren't a jerk and treat them with the same respect you want back. The salad buffet is always fresh, great variety. The soda machine has had a broken spout on one of the flavors for over a month, but it isn't Dr. PEPPER haha so I don't care! The pizza is generally full of variety. The pizza at Round Table is always great. The problem with this location is their service. I placed an online order on a Friday night 20 minutes before I got there. I showed up at the time my pizza was supposed to be ready. I walked in and went over to the Carry Out register, which was clearly marked with a sign above it. After standing there for a couple minutes, the cashier at the other counter told me that there wasn't actually a register there and that the owner was was supposed to take down the sign a long time ago. She also informed me that I would have to stand in line behind 8 other people that were at the other counter. 8 other people who probably hadn't taken the time to preorder online and 8 other people who probably hadn't waited to show up until their pizza was supposed to be ready. Instead, I asked the cashier to cancel my order, as having to wait in line behind that many people defeated the entire purpose of placing an order online. I wasn't about to wait in line for another 20-30 minutes just to get a cold $25 pizza. The cashier seemed entirely unaffected by the fact that they were losing a customer and just asked for my name so that she could successfully cancel my order. The whole interaction left me perturbed so the next day I called and spoke to the manager. He stated he reported directly to the owner. He also, seemed entirely unaffected by my experience, not even offering so much as an apology for it. He also stated that the owner was supposed to take down the Carry Out sign a long time ago.

Round Table is expensive. This is not a cheap pizza. I was 30 minutes from my home, having made the trip specifically for this reason. Based on this experience, I will never again visit this location or give this owner ANY of my business. If I visit another Round Table in this area, I will call ahead to make sure it's not the same owners, as the owner appears that he/she couldn't care any less about the guests experience.

If you don't have a Carry Out counter, don't offer online ordering for your location. Plain and simple....
