Golden Hour Cameras and Vintage — Local services in Tacoma

I would like to start by saying I am not one to write reviews and that it is very hard for me to write a negative review especially for a local small business. I took my recently inherited camera and 3 lenses I got from my late grandfather to get serviced. My initial interaction was positive and I felt that the pricing was fair. After approximately a month and a half I had not heard anything from the shop so I attempted to reach out via instagram, over the phone and through text. I did not receive any communication back. I then went in during store hours. The owner at first had a difficult time locating my camera. He eventually found the camera and one of the lenses. I had to ask about the other two lenses. He then pulled one of the lenses out from a different location where he quickly pulled a blue sticker off of it. He then went around the counter and removed another lens from a camera in the display case that was for sale. I paid for the service and got out as quickly as I could as I was very upset. Upon inspection at home, I am not completely sure how much was serviced. I was told the battery on the camera was replaced, and there was not a battery even in the camera. There appeared to still be dust on the lenses. I really hope this was just a lapse in judgement or a complete misunderstanding because we need local businesses like this to succeed. I just feel like I needed to share...

This place is absolutely underrated! If you' re in the Seattle area, I definitely suggest driving down to Golden Hour if you're looking for a film camera.

Garrett, the owner, provided me with the most knowledgeable and helpful customer service I've ever received. He was not concerned with selling me a product; instead he made sure to help me find a camera that was both within by budget and I truly loved. All of his cameras are clean, film tested, and in very well condition.

I purchased a Pentax ME Super; he has a wide selection, and I am sure you he will help you find the right camera for you as well.

Garrett serviced my camera and did an amazing job. coffee spilled on my camera while I was overseas for vacation and immediately messaged Garrett. He advised me to bring it in asap and gave me tips on what to do in the meantime. Also, the screen was cracked from previous shenanigans and he was able to replace the screen and make it almost brand new.
