Got there 15 mins to closing to find a few items for my trip to Virginia. One of the employees, Hispanic, hovered me for about 2 minutes without introducing herself or her purpose of watching me try on blazers. I actually thought she was a customer for one: she had a hand bag crossed over her body and two she didn't say a word to me. Just stared. I didn't mind a customer watching me pick out items and just thought that maybe there was a language barrier because she didn't say anything to me...When I realized that the lady was actually waiting on me, not just staring, I uncomfortably but in laughter asked if she worked there, "do you work here?" She said yes. She was standing there because I was the "only one in the store and they were about to close". I could understand that. So I finish trying on a few more blazers and headed to check out. So did the employee ... when I get to the front of check out lane, I noticed someone else ,a Hispanic woman, in the check out lane telling me to skip her. I thought she too worked there since I was "the only one left on the store". The lady was dressed in casual clothes like the first employee and just waiting for me to purchase my items, in order to close the store. I am next in line and now realize the lady who told me to skip her is indeed a customer, and decided to check out before me. So I wait and now the same employee that was hovering over while I shopped, is now behind me so close to me that she could see my nose hairs...lol smh. I am not sure why she was so close to me . I was super uncomfortable with how close she stood over me like I needed supervision..I still am waiting to check out and I start to process: "wait I wasn't the only customer in the store!!". The customer in front of me was there, also, but didn't have anyone hovering over her pressuring her to checkout. She shopped and checked-out in peace... Why was I the only one followed at time of closing? ..the employee was sooooo close to me even while I was paying for my items that she could see my debit card pin I used, if she wanted to.....I was so uncomfortable and in disbelief that this employee really worked there, was that invasive and was invading my personal space, harassed and rushed my shopping experience. What about the other customer? No one harrased her or surveillance her...No one rushed her to check out. So much so, that I checked-out after her and the customer was STILL deciding on what items to purchase...I was done paying and left the hispanic customer taking her time in finalizing her purchase. No pressure , no harrassment no mis treatment. Whatever your policy is at closing time, you need to apply it to everyone. While I was literally stood over while shopping from your employee, was being forced and pressured to hurry, one other customer, gets to shop and check out in peace!! This is humiliating and how dare that employee think she has a right to do that. No respect for me. I will not return to this store. It was hard to process in the moment but the treatment that I experienced was totally discriminatory and unequal. I felt like I didn't have the right to a pleasurable shopping experience. I also felt like that employee felt the need literally watch me and hover over me to shop. She didn't need to do that. When I got to the checkout counter after waiting on the other customer, it was 10:32pm. I commented re: time and the Black pregnant employee associate : 2361236 at register replied that the employees declare store closed a few mins before they are actually closed in order to get everyone to the register in a timely manner...even with her response, she added "see even when we do that this last still can't decide on what she wants?".. that is exactly my point...the Hispanic customer gets to take her time and I'm rushed and my every move is watched like I am a kid....Shame on this team of associates. Very unequal and discriminatory practices. I will be contacting corporate about this...
Read moreI was very disappointed shopping today⌠I shopped for a while, came to the register and didnât notice that the young lady was closing her register to go on lunch.. I proceeded to her area and as soon as I walked up, she said âline closed, Iâm going on breakâ⌠that wasnât the problem, having a break is mandatory especially having to work for an establishment where you donât already want yo wake up and go to.. I get it⌠the tone, the manner and walking to other employees to tell them Iâm not taking her Iâm goin my break is what bothered me, she was so nonchalant about it not realizing I out of all people that works with people all day long understood that she had to go to break! She walked away looking at me as if I was a problem but like I told her, âI understand youâre going on breakââŚ.. someone else wouldâve caused chaos but I understood⌠Iâve never been so mad walking out of DDâs but it takes one employee to ruin it for the bunch!!!!! Louis or Louise was the employeeâs name and I am so upset at the fact that I had good intentions but her attitude didnât open doors to allow my good intent on understanding how much I advocate for employees taking their breaks!!! Take your break but donât do it with an attitude when a customer has no clue whatâs going on!!! Donât fire or write her up on my behalf just teach her to do better, we all need a...
