I was here December 3rd. The ship had a delay due to fog and the port was closed. The cruise company sent an email out telling everyone to get to the port at 5pm. We needed to board by 8:30pm. This of course created mass chaos. The staff at the port were of course overwhelmed. We were corralled with my disabled parents into the special assistance line. We were almost in the building when "Martha" demanded that we get out of that line to go to the regular line because she needed to shorten the special assistance line. I attempted over and over to explain to her that my parents were disabled we needed our assistance. They both are trying to manage their bags and navigate through. Both are huge fall risks. Things only escalated and we now had two people demanding we get out of line. I was so upset as this put my parents in a dangerous situation as no one would help them. They very nonchalantly told us we would catch up with them on the ship and started to forcefully pull me out of line. My husband and I got out of line to go to the regular line full of tons of people. I went up to the port employee managing that line. I never was able to get his name, but he was older and quite tall and husky. I attempted again to explain the situation to him. He had zero interest and started yelling for everyone to get into 3 single file lines. Of course no one was listening because of mass chaos. He then began to charge up the line to force people onto single file lines. By doing this, I was assaulted by him. He slammed through me as he charged up the line. A few minutes after he came charging back down the line and again assaulted me by bodychecking me. This left a very large bruise on my thigh due to my luggage and 12 pack of soda jamming into my leg. Once we were able to finally get inside the building, there was still a long line. My mom called me on the cell to let me know she and my dad were okay and to let me know where they were. Instantly, I had another port employee begin to yell at me to get off my phone. I again tried to explain the situation. She began yelling at me even louder to get off my phone. I lost my mind at this point and began yelling back to her. First I was separated from my disabled parents, then assaulted twice by the same employee, then yelled and by another employee to get off my phone when attempting to touch base with my disabled parents. There was no compassion, not a care that we were put into this situation nor a care that I was assaulted to the point of a very large bruise on my thigh. The entire process was insane. ...
Read moreSerious changes need to be made. It’s important to remember that hard working people have paid good money for their vacation experience on their cruises and like it or not, the staff here on the first glimpse into that vacation. A little bit of decency, some manners, and a little bit of thought go a long way. First off, the moment I got out of the car I was approached by the guy taking our luggage up. Immediately, he demanded a tip before doing anything at all. This was while my family and I were super busy and it was hectic we were trying to get all of our stuff together and check that all of our items were with us. He interrupted us several times to DEMAND a tip. He didn’t even bring our suitcases up yet, and you’re going to DEMAND a tip from me??? At one point he even lowered his tone and raised his voice to interrupt us demanding a tip. That left a bad taste in my mouth. This should NOT be allowed. This amount of entitlement. You’re already getting paid to do 1 job, it’s 1 thing if you get tipped on top of that but it’s a WHOLE other thing if you’re standing there harassing people demanding tips like they’re owed to you. It was a large black man with longer hair and a husky voice if that helps. Whoever it is, you gotta get rid of him and train your staff to treat passengers with respect and to not DEMAND anything. I’m not a cheap guy, I would have not minded tipping anyone in fact I tipped very nicely all of my cruise staff that contributed to a positive experience for me. However, the way that a tip was demanded from me and interrupt my family in such an aggressive manner felt like more of a robbery than a service. I’m extremely upset about it. I will be reporting this to the BBB as well as upper management, and have already reported this to cruise line management as well as ship management who helped me reach the cruise line management. How dare you interrupt my family in such an aggressive and menacing manner to demand more money. A rabid monkey could do the job of bringing luggage from point A to point B and you think you’re entitled to more, to the point of scaring my young children and my wife??? Shameful. Upon getting inside, the staff greeting us at the door had 0 enthusiasm at all. I wish to see some more excitement as that energy can radiate to passengers for a fuller vacation experience from start to finish. Once we got inside, the staff got a little bit better and more helpful and enthusiastic. Wish that I could add some extra stars but for the first 2 reasons I...
Read moreFirst of all me and my husband decided to where the port terminal is to see you where we were going. Well whoever designed this actual terminal port didn't think thre parking structure is across street and not connected to the terminal port so you have to literally Park go down the elevator cross four lanes then you have to cross another road then you have to cross another to get to the other side of the street again crossing another road to get to the building. Then you have luggage drop off them off! Suggestion to all if you have kids in lot of luggage you could drop off Drive thing or else you're going to have to walk it. So we come back from our Cruise trip its total chaos going through luggage planes we were given the number was 23 where bags were posed to be we couldn't find them we ended up asking they put it at another number so we got it. Then you get in line for Customs they basically look at your paperwork didn't even go through a metal detector didn't even look in your carry-ons so you leave that go up an escalator come down escalator go out the door now you got to be careful cuz you have people standing outside waiting to come in the same time when you're trying to leave so you trying to load your luggage again through the crowd of people who are trying to get in. So you have people that are trying to drop off and pick up people lot of chaos so you have to go back to the same thing over again with the roads just to get across the street then you get to the elevator of the parking structure and you just stand there cuz it is just so slow that was my thought of this place somebody needs to rethink this port or...
