I'm very upset with the grooming service my golden retriever received at all about dogs in Taylorsville. Instead of a proper trim like they always do they completely shaved him, even after my husband told them what he needed done. The groomer (not his regular one) said the only way she can groom him was shaving him because he was matted… what !! Do you know anything about this breed!! Something that should never be done to a double-coated breed. He needed to be bathed, hair trim and de shedding treatment like he always gets. Not getting completely shaved!!! Not only is it bad for his coat and health, but the haircut looks terrible and uneven. On top of that, the service was overpriced for the poor quality of work. I expected professional care and basic breed knowledge. I’ve been taking him there for over 6 years and never had any issues but unfortunately this experience was the opposite. One of the groomers cut my dog's padding then proceeded to just say that maybe it was because of my dog being old and may having arthritis that he pulled his paw away which caused them to accidentally cut his paw. I do appreciate that they did apologize and they did 'glue' his pad to stop the bleeding, but I don't appreciate them blaming his old age and "may having arthritis" (which he doesn't) that caused this injury. My dog is old and small, but he is well behaved, healthy, and never had a problem with grooming at other places. I chose this places because it was close by and got good ratings. Kelsey is a great groomer and extremely nice and accommodating. We have been going to her a long time. The reason for the bad review however is that one of the owners is so rude to me every time I go in. We pay above 40% tip most of the time and have always been nothing but nice and respectful to her. She never speaks to me, uses the phone to pretend she can't talk to me while grabbing my dog and taking them to the back. Today, I went an hour earlier than my appointment was scheduled because they asked if I could come in earlier. I accommodated my schedule for them. When I walked in, the owner had me wait 9 minutes after she saw me come in and after her employee told her I was there. I was loud with my dog also in the lobby. She knew.
