After moving back to Temecula early this year, I wanted to enroll my 10 year old son in a solid Taekwondo program. I knew first hand the discipline, self esteem and focus it would instill in him. I checked out a couple training facilities prior to inquiring at Hana and they just didn't feel right. Once we met with Master Won, we instantly felt at home and excited to begin! We were met with so much powerful, positive energy and I saw that sparkle of inspiration Master Won instantly placed in my son's eyes! In six months time, I've seen my son's maturity, self esteem, self control and discipline grow as he's growing. The training is very organized and schedule is extremely flexible. The facility is always immaculate and has a bright, positive feel about it. I truly appreciate how the martial artists are always progressing while still being challenged along the way. A shout goes out to instructors Aaron and Annabelle for always bringing passion and spirit to the hearts of all who train. Hana Taekwondo does an excellent job of bridging the gap of fundamentals and application while keeping a strong focus on discipline and respect. Lastly, Hana Taekwondo wouldn't be what it is if it wasn't for Master Won. This man has a beautiful spirit and truly possess a gift of connecteting with youth of all ages and inspiring them to become the best version of themselves. We are truly blessed to have Master Won in our life. Thank you, Hana...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy boy has always been interested in learning martial arts and I thought it should be Taekwondo if he would learn any since heās half-Korean. I was too lazy to drop by any Taekwondo place to check out though till I saw Master Won advertise his newly-opened studio one day at the public pool.
The location was perfect because it was only 5 minutes away from our house and I also liked the fact that it was an academy that was recently taken over by a young and enthusiastic master. We did a trial lesson then and decided to sign him up for their one-year course.
So, itās been almost a month since my boy started Master Wonās class and it appears that heās enjoying it a lot. Heās always excited to go to the class and seems to be very motivated, talking about all the belts he will eventually get. He looks more confident each time in the class and I believe that it helps him outside of the class as well. We will have to see how things will go as time passes, but he will most likely continue his practice at least for one year, hopefully much longer, reaching his goals and always staying strong and disciplined.
If you are interested in learning (and teaching your kids) self-defense along with some Korean culture, it might be worthwhile to check this place out and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe whole thing felt a little like a money grab. Kids are moving up in belts with little to no experience in the routine needed to achieve the next belt. At the pace we were going my 4 year old would of probably been a black belt within 2 years of going here. Now I understand there's kids black belts and adult black belts. Still though, each belt and testing cost extra money and they are not cheap. Master won is good at what he does, and is a great teacher. Unfortunately the belts don't seem to mean much here, yet you are charged everytime your childs moves up. My child moved up 3 belts quite quickly to my surprise, and it didn't feel like they learned all that much, if anything at all. Also if you haven't had your child here for at least a year, you must give a 2 month notice for cancelation of membership. That part didn't sit well with me either. In conclusion, there are less expensive ways to teach your young child discipline, confidence, self esteem, and other...
