Review for Harbor Freight - Temecula Location Incident Date: Monday, June 23rd, between 4–5 PM
I’m writing to share a disappointing experience I had during a recent visit to your Temecula store with my husband and our 11-year-old son. We were shopping for tool organization and large-scale storage solutions as part of a garage overhaul project.
As any parent knows, shopping with a child can present challenges. During our visit, our son began exhibiting some disruptive behavior—rolling down the aisle while following us. As his parent, I made the conscious decision not to engage with the behavior in the moment, in order to avoid reinforcing it with attention.
Unfortunately, around 4:30 PM, one of your store associates—an older white male, approximately 40–50 years old, who was working in the aisles near the large-scale toolboxes—took it upon himself to reprimand our son directly, without speaking to me or my husband first. This was not only inappropriate, but also completely out of line. It is not the role of a store employee to discipline someone else’s child, especially without first addressing the parents present.
While I understand that witnessing a child acting out in public can be frustrating, it does not excuse an employee’s decision to act on that frustration in a way that crosses personal and professional boundaries. Employees should be trained to manage their own emotions and to approach these situations with professionalism and respect.
We are doing our best, even if that may not be immediately visible to others. All I ask is that your employees respect that. I strongly urge store leadership to speak with this associate and provide clear guidance on how to appropriately navigate situations involving families in the store.
Please do not reprimand my child. Speak to me directly. I will always be willing to listen—but I expect the same courtesy and respect in return.

I'm a commercial customer and certified mechanic working in automotive and heavy truck/equipment repairs, so having reliable and supportive service makes a huge difference to me.
During checkout, my Harbor Freight card triggered a fraud alert, causing a delay as I had to contact the card company to sort it out. This wasn't anyone's fault—just an inconvenient glitch. However, Daniel and his team member were incredibly patient, understanding, and supportive throughout the entire process. Even before this issue arose, they had been extremely helpful, friendly, and positive, making me feel right at home.
It's clear to me that this Harbor Freight location values their customers and goes above and beyond to provide outstanding service. Big thanks to Daniel and his crew for turning a frustrating situation into a positive fun experience—I highly recommend this store and will make it my home...
