This latest experience was a new low for me. I took my used oil to AutoZone for disposal, and purchased a new gallon of oil. The whole in-store experience was fine, cordial and all. I paid for the new gallon of oil, opted for email receipt and left. When I got home and had time to review my emails, I discovered that AutoZone had charged me for an additional item that I never brought to the counter nor received (STP fuel injector cleaner for $9.99)! I called the store and explained the situation to someone on the phone, and the person said "sure no problem, just come on back to the store and we'll need to verify your card used for the transaction and take care of it"...so I thought okay, must have been an honest mistake. I returned to the store and the person I spoke to on the phone asked to see the email receipt, then proceeded to perform an inventory verification charade stating that store has exactly one bottle fewer of said fuel injector cleaner purportedly having been sold and "delivered", insinuating that I, the customer was not telling the truth. Surely, I was not going to let that slide and stood my ground knowing that I did not buy nor ask for a bottle of fuel injector cleaner because my 6k miles old car would not need it. I allowed the store clerk to complete his charade of calling the manager and getting permission to process the refund despite inventory "discrepancy" and refund the item. Today has been a valuable lesson for me that at the present difficult economic times to always verify your receipt before you walk out of the door. I also glean from this experience that sales pressure must be high for that AutoZone store, so be wary of sales tactics...
ย ย ย Read moreStore Manager called Richard M. is so rude, he DISCRIMINATES the Asian customers who do not speak good English, he is dishonest and lie, And giving bad/unpolite attitude to Asian customers. I will NEVER shop in this location again. We placed online store pick up order, at the time when we picked up we did double confirm with the store sales person if the item fits on our tire or not. The store sales person said we can take it home to try if not fit, bring it back to return. We took it home and just took the item out from the bag for less than 5 mins to try and realized not fit. Then we brought back to return in the store, the guy call "Richard M" was giving us the hard time the whole way, he discriminated us and kept making lies. 1st he said the item is open so it is not able to return. I called the 1800 customer service, they said 90 days return policy even it is open, it is still able to return. OK now , this Richard M.-store manager said it is used ( he was making lie), if it is used, then the store sold me the used item. I swear we did not use it. At this time, the customer service said to Richard M." go ahead to return it", but Richard M. walked away again and ignore us and giving bad attitude. Then 15mins later, he came back again said (3rd lie): " the item is damage, not able return (we had the item with me the whole time)". The whole time he was just making lies and giving us the discriminated attitude. We would NEVER shop in this...
ย ย ย Read moreNot only the Top Service Auto Zone store like in the others reviews but after visiting several of the competitive store's and even other Auto Zone's I had the district privilege to visit this location and meet Mr. Giovanni, I took my 2 month old $160 "Toyota Only" part's problem to him on a 20 year old vehicle and with his "AMERICAN INGENUITY AND KNOW HOW" just as promised in the Auto Zone commercial he solved the problemo in twenty minutes for $20.
Kudos to the manager of this particular location for hiring an Old Goat ๐ like myself who took the many years to know what he did during my visit.
Because even on a Foreign vehicle, "THAT'S WHAT AMERICA IS REALLY ALL ABOUT".
AWESOME !
I do hope that Auto Zone uses Giovanni and Old Goat's like him and myself to teach the younger generation that it's not only what you know but your COMPLETE desire to LISTEN to the customer, not think that you already know that problemo like a child with contempt prior to investigation and simply "Git Er Done".
Thanks again Auto Zone, and I do hope that your company takes the time to recognize Employee's like Giovanni, because, it'd be a shame to come back to this location with my next automotive problemo and find out that he's working at O'Reilly, because I'll never walk through those doors again, not even for a quart of...
