I spent over $1,500.00 having a knew head unit installed and it doesn't work right to this day. The first estimate I was given was for a bit over $900.00 which seemed reasonable. This was after David looked the car over thoroughly. The next thing I knew the price had gone to over $1,500.00 because of some fiber optic interface David decided I needed. After installing that he finally said my car was ready. I went to pick it up and it did seem to play nicely. We listened to it for about 15 minutes. I went in his store and paid him the remainder of my bill. ( Over $1,000.00 because he insisted on $500.00 up front before he would even start.) I walked out and got into my car to leave and NO SOUND coming out of the speakers. David seemed confused and kept my car overnight. By this point he had had my car for almost 2 weeks. The next day he called me and says I need the amplifier repaired to the tune of at least $450.00. I was going to have to send it to NY to have the repairs done. Well, believe me I am never going to give HP Audio another dime. On top of all that the trim didn't fit back correctly because David said they had sent him the wrong kit. I strongly recommend against using HP Audio. I will probably have to get a lawyer to get this straightened out. BUYER BE WEAR! I am updating this review, and not for the better. After looking more closely at my car I saw that David had broken several plastic trim pieces he had removed. He put them back as best he could but never even mentioned to me that it had happened. He has absolutely no integrety. Still haven't heard from him about the correct mounting kit he said he was going to get since the trim looks about as unprofessional as it possibly could. Not that I would let him touch my car again unless I had a written guarantee which I am sure he won't give.
UPDATE: David is not telling the truth in his reply. The other place I went to was Elite Auto, but not about my stereo. They are a foreign car repair shop and highly regarded. I never spoke to them about the stereo. Ask and they will confirm this. I didn't know there was a problem with the amp and am not convinced that the problem lies with the amp. I noticed David didn't comment about not installing the incorrect mounting kit, and the car still has a 1/4 " void above the head unit that looks like it was installed by someone with no pride in their work. The broken trim piece he said he noticed was NOT that way when I took my car to his shop. The "cheap" part he said I suggested was only a thing I found on the internet and I knew nothing about the company. I just gave him the info and let him make the decision.    Read moreI had a apple car play installed in 2017. I had some issues and tried to explain them. David set an appointment for me to come in. However I didn’t show up for the time of the appointment. For I thought I could come from work and make it to the appointment but I overslept. I believe in opportunities. I continued to have issues. He told me to replace my cables with actual iPhone chargers(the white cord) I did that but was still having issues. Now as I stated before I believe in opportunities. This went in for a while. When I gave him what I was experiencing he would try and diagnose the issue because he has stated on several occasions that he use to drive distances to do insurance claims. Needless to say all of the diagnosis did not resolve the issue. The last encounter I tried to explain the same issues i.e the radio shuts off while I am driving down the road. Sometimes it would reset right away and sometimes it won’t. David would go through his usual IT questions to rule out any small issues. When I advised him of the noise that I was getting while trying to talk through the hands free call. I would have to disconnect for both sides had a loud noise. He then stated that “well you know the radio only has a year warranty” that’s when I chose to discontinue the conversation. I went to the establishment willing to give him my vehicle for a day to try and trouble shoot the issue. But he continued to speak tech knowledge of why I could be getting the noise. Just this morning April 30, 2019, I made a call and had to disconnect from the hands free call and talk by way of speaker from the phone it self for I had the buzzing noise coming through the speakers. I have noticed that David is the only person there. Again I believe in opportunities, but just maybe he is by himself for the techs that he hires is not to his standard and he is cleaning up installation that they have done. I am not saying the establish is bad. It’s just for the money I have spent I don’t think I should be having these issues, regardless of the age of the radio. I feel it’s a issue from the install but instead of trying to do a trouble shoot, he try and talk through the problem. I will get the issue resolved eventually but with him. And if it is in fact the radio and not the install the man that I am will be willing to remove this concern or update. But as of now this is how I feel. I will not return for I get frustrated...for the amount of money I spent for this...

I originally called HP Audio to get a quote for my newly purchased Ford Mustang, at the time because of the huge shortage they didn’t have any stereos in stock (turns out they got some shortly after my call and I should have just waited and come here initially) so I ended up calling another shop in the area, out the shack audio….HUGE MISTAKE!
Without going in to huge detail but that shop did so much wrong with my instal and they would no longer answer my calls after doing a horrible job and cutting wires in my car that didn’t need. I was so frustrated and decided I would give Dave a call back because he seemed so knowledgeable and well respected in the community.
Boy was that one of the best decisions ever! I fixed everything they did wrong and also finished the part of the job that they didn’t. All with no problem. He showed me the instal job that the out the shack did when opening up my dash and then made sure to show my how they were going to do it the correct way. I was extremely happy and still am! I am definitely a lifetime customer of HP audio now and will come here for all of my car audio needs...
