La Monarca Cravings — Restaurant in Temple

Found this place on Facebook a while ago and every time they post my mouth waters lol. We finally got around to going and immediately loved that they had a drive thru because hauling the whole family in and out of the car especially in this heat is so exhausting. I showed the girl a picture off their Facebook since I wasn’t sure what it was (Ferraro Milkshake) and it came out exactly as pictured. My kid’s chocolate ice cream was good. We also got a large elote cup with all the fixings and it was delicious. Sometimes places will put too much of something but this was balanced and the corn was HOT and fresh. I took off a star on atmosphere only because we haven’t been inside yet, though there are a good handful of parking spaces. The building is bright pink and you can’t miss it lol (not sure what it looks like at night). What a great little place! I love that it’s family owned and that they make aqua frescoes and their Popsicles all In house! I had never had an aqua fresco so the owner gave me a few samples and it was super refreshing and I can’t wait for a hot day to go back by and get a big serving of it! I liked that they weren’t too sweet, but they had great flavor. I did get a mango popsicle and the first bite into the popsicle was a giant chunk of mango, which was delicious! I love healthier options in ice cream and this is definitely a great place for that. Now if you like banana splits and regular ice cream they’ve got a lot of choices there too! They have an outside area that’s cute and great for famines to hang out and plenty of parking, it’s right off 31st St. in Temple.
