The anticipation of the walk from the entrance to the lighthouse coupled with the actual climb of the lighthouse was exhilarating. The spiral staircase adds a beautiful effect to the climb and from the top-Breathtaking views. There is an area outside of the lighthouse amongst the gorgeous trees to gather yourself following your trek both up and down the staircase and an original home to explore behind plexiglass. Took my partner here while in the area and we both greatly enjoyed it no matter how hot it was outside! The lighthouse itself is not a bad climb and the views are worth it. We saw a mother manatee and her calf!! The volunteer who worked at the top really made the experience, though. We were able to talk to her about anything and she was always so delighted to listen or answer! The exhibits tell a comprehensive story of the lighthouse's story and a bit of the area's history, too.
