Nessler Swimming Pool — Local services in Texas City

My kids & I absolutely love this place. The reason that I give it 4 stars is because the bathroom situation is definitely a concern for me. Obviously the floors are wet but for some odd reason they constantly smell like urine ..... I have visited several water parks in the area and not one of their bathroom floors smell like urine. So we use the family restroom that tends to be a lot cleaner and dryer floors lol ..... but all in all we really like this place and will always come back, definitely a regular summer hangout spot for me and my boys age 8

UPDATE * Friday June 1st 2018... We checked to see if it would be open today by looking at the hours.... got dressed, covered in sunblock , drove all the way and guess what NOT FRIGGIN OPEN!! All the other pools and water parks properly listed if they were open or not. Why couldn't Nessler fo the same??? Smh, not happy at all! NESSLER AQUATIC CENTER... can you please be more forthcoming with key info such as what days you are not going to be open

We love this place, we intend to be here 2-3 times a week this summer. But if we get stuck in this situation again, we will spend our summer elsewhere!

We have been visiting nessler for 7, 8 years now. Initially gave 4☆ but it's clear to me now, June 2024, that the womens restroom is NOT cleaned during the day whatsoever!!

If you go when they first open it's not bad at all. However, throughout the day it gets more stinky & stinky, wet & smelling BAD like piss!! And I mean BAAAD!! Not only that, but the walls!! They're gross!! I've seen gum, hair, writing and some kind of mess. The whole restroom is a biohazard!!! There are plenty of female staff to clean it once in the afternoon so what gives!????

I hope Nessler takes these issues to heart & can address at least the restrooms. That'll change my 2 ☆ to 4 or 5. We do enjoy the center but I'm not ok with the lack of...

I really like that the Nessler Center is very close to where I live. However the Free weight room is Terrible and the cable work out equipment is Very Old and it's Very Uncomfortable for Woman your basically sitting on top of each other No room to move around the room is way too small.

The Elliptical and Treadmill area is Good could be a lot bigger machines are a lot nicer and up to date. The Aerobic room not the best but it works it's just old and the floors are not good. The saunas and woman's locker rooms are nice.

I have just been to a lot of different fitness Gym's and they are a lot nicer. Texas City makes a lot of money with all the new schools, churches, Grocery stores, new roads etc. I would think they could improve these areas maybe in a Different location not meaning to move Everything but a least think about these particular areas at a different location. The old HEB building would be nice or even the Mainland Church on Palmer just an Idea.

However I still enjoying going to Nessler and still and...

Pros: Excellent price Great way to cool off A section for toddlers and younger kids Lazy river Larger slide Cons: -Theres a water fall in the center of the river but it's useless and you cannot be in it -The rules are hit or miss- sometimes they are enforced and at other times they are not You have kids who are prolific swimmers who cannot use the larger slide because of height and then you have kids who cannot even swim using it because they're 48 inches -The life guards are unruly and playing most of the time I just watched one jump from a wet concrete platform to another platform SEVERAL TIMES (the platforms are probably about 3 feet apart)... I thought they were suppose to set an example The life guards watch kids doing rough horse play like pushing kids under the water and I don't hear any whistles -The cleanliness is mediocre...it's not filthy but it's not...
