First time I came to this restaurant and NEVER AGAIN! I usually don't do restaurants because as a nurse I usually take my lunch to work. The only difference this time was that my family was in town & we decided to had lunch together and so we came to El Jaliciense. My aunt ordered meat flautas and as she took a bite of her flauta the meat was raw and had a horrible odor. I assessed the rest of the flautas (taquitos) and definitely the meat was of poor quality (raw & rotten). We addressed the waitress about the incident and she got very defensive. We did not accuse her of this incident because as a professional I understand that it was not her fault and that she did not cook the food, but some how the lady (waitress) got very offended and I explained to her that we are not blaming her for the bad food in anyway (I speak spanish). Still, she was very rude, maybe because she over heard us saying, "First and last time I will ever come to this restaurant [in Spanish]". Anyways, as I paid for our food (which I think I SHOULDN'T had paid for something that I did not eat, the waitress said "pues aunque no te comiste tu comida, tu la ordenaste [even though you didn't eat your food, you ordered it]". Although she removed my aunt's plate from the ticket she did not remove my full untouched quesadilla from the ticket. As a health professional I can be petty and send a food inspector but I'm not because I am not a bad person and I am giving them the opportunity to correct this and raise their standards. I did tell the cashier this suggestion in a respectful but straightforward manner, "Sir, you may not care about my opinion but I firmly believe that it is imperative for you to know that this restaurant does not offer Quality... as a restaurant your standards of QUALITY should be your priorty, ESPECIALLY inspecting the quality of food that you are selling for customers to consume. How do the managers or cooks think that customers will eat raw and rotten meat?"
To the Texas City and individuals that attend this restaurant just watch out for what you are eating and I mean in quality of meats and foods (many may not care) but to those that do, please post your experiences so that El Jaliciense can at least assess and reconsider the places where they need to improve on.
I do have to say that I am disappointed in the way that they did not cared about my complain starting with the waitress to the cashier. Hopefully someone that can actually make a difference will...
Read moreI Took some of my acquaintances out for lunch here. I used to stop by here on my way to work and get food to go for my lunch or dinner. The people here are always friendly and out going. The atmosphere is also really enjoyable. The food is always fresh and really good! Everything I've ever ordered here has been really good and the portions are plenty enough to fill you up!! This time I wanted a lighter lunch and ordered the taco dinner that comes with three tacos with you choice of meat. I had the crispy beef tacos that come with rice and beans. Their taco meat is perfectly seasoned and really tastes great!!! They also serve three different kinds of salsa when they bring the chips to your table after you get seated and take your drink orders. They have the Red salsa which is really good, but they also bring out salsa Verde, their green sauce and also their special hotter sauce with larger chunks of tomatoes, onions, and jalapenos kind of like a pico de Gallo sauce that is also really good!!! For my drink I ordered sweet tea with lemon. Our waitress was really friendly and very attentive at keeping check on our table and refilling or drinks and chips. I always have a great experience here and most lunch dinners can be had for around $10!!! I highly recommend you...
Read moreWe promised ourselves about 9 months ago we wouldn't eat here anymore based on the constant inconsistent quality of their food. Today we broke that promise as it was late, and choices were limited... BIG MISTAKE. These people literally gave us completely cold food. IE: The ingredients on one item only consist of meat, cheese, and corn shell (The beans I asked for were missing); the shredded cheese was still refrigerator-cold, as well as the meat & corn shell, leaving me to believe all the items were pre-prepared, then just thrown together, and bagged up....Sad. I generally am not this harsh, but these people are awful. Not only have they no respect for me, my patronage, or my money; they don't even respect themselves enough to honor their company's name, or any possibility of positive reputation, by putting in the least amount of effort. This is extremely insulting to me. If you don't take pride in cooking, then close the doors, save unsuspecting people as well as yourselves the headache. There are plenty of other great hard working, both established and up and coming taquerias (such as Sylvia's), in Texas City, that would love the business. You guys should be ashamed...
