Our old A/C unit went out, probably due to a nearby lightning strike. Because we relied on the unit 24/7 for our home business, we paid $299 for Advanced Air Systems to make an out-of-area service call on a Saturday. Aleck told us that there was a short in the wiring through the attic—a fire danger—and that the unit itself was so old it had to be replaced. In desperation, we were sold on a $12,800 system to be installed later in the week.
It was an uncomfortable wait (we were not provided portable window units), but we were happy when the installation crew finally came to start their work. Only, they quickly determined that there was nothing wrong with the attic wiring! Instead, breakers in the old unit had been flipped because of the storm. They installed the new unit regardless. In hindsight, we should have insisted that they at least run new wiring, since it was already included in the unitemized quote. For whatever reason, we paid another $28 to "initiate" the installation. We were relieved to have A/C again by the end of the day, although every time the unit surged on the rest of the system would struggle to compensate.
When DVEC was out to upgrade equipment on our power poles, we mentioned the issue we’d had with the suspected lightning strike that summer. The crew looked at the exterior electrical panel and remarked that they were surprised Advanced Air did not insist on upgrading the panel before installing a unit of that size. Wanting to give Advanced Air a last chance to do the right thing, we requested an estimate for upgrading the electrical panel. We got a quote for over $8,000 and a sales call asking us to buy a maintenance contract.
Worse yet, we learned the hard way that Advanced Air had poured an undersized foundation for the new unit. As a result, the unit overhung the back of the pad, giving packrats easy entry into the unit, where they quickly stripped the wires.
Advanced Air’s advertised satisfaction and performance guarantees are a joke and the company is predatory on both their customers and...
Read moreREAD BEFORE YOU GO WITH THIS COMPANY We called Advanced Air Systems to work on an AC that wasn't working. The first time they came out, they did their "repairs" at a cost of $1000. A little over a month later they had to come out again and replace another part. Two weeks after, it stops working. We later find out that we need a whole new unit because our unit was over 19 years old, which should have been mentioned by their experienced technician before the first job. This looks concerning because now it looks like they took advantage of only doing the small repairs and not mentioning the age of the unit only to lead up to the big job and ultimately make it harder to shop around other AC companies. We still ended up going with another company to put in the new AC unit. After reading Mrs. Peru's review, the response from the owner states they "back their work with a lifetime warranty" (when I spoke to them on the phone, this is what they told me, "we can't guarantee that our job will continue to work even over a month, we have no way of knowing that." Then why say you back it with a "lifetime warranty" in your reviews?). The owner also states , "we back every service our team provides with a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If you're not happy, we will return every dime. No questions asked. Guaranteed." Which couldn't be further from the truth! When the refund came into the conversation, they tried to blame us and asked question after question! I have asked to speak with the owner twice, and still haven't spoken to them to this day, when I was told they were going to contact me twice in the past, it never happened. I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED "EVERY DIME BACK" as the owner states. I am not satisfied with the quality of their work, or their customer service. You be the judge of that. I won't be doing business with Advanced Air Systems...
Read moreso I got quoted 15,786 dollars to rewire half my house, that was after 5 hours of 2 techs looking over the same damaged electrical outlets that got replaced by another electrician, got a second quote from Sunrise electrical in Thatcher AZ, fixed my electrical circuit issues in 3 hours and replaced the wall outlets of 9 circuits in my house and fixed the dead circuits in half my house for 445 dollars, I don't think Advanced AIR hires or pays really qualified techs who are really qualified to troubleshoot issues or they're just trying to sell you new unit installs instead of trying to fix your old units issues, there trying to sell you new installs which will fix your issues but at the high price of new installs of hvac units and whatever else they install and usually at 1.5 times the cost or more of what others would charge you, when I had them replace my hvac unit it needed troubleshooting but needed things replaced, at the sales stages they quoted me 11k for a new unit and blower and sheet metal vents, knocked them down to 5,600 dollars during the haggle stage for just a new hvac unit, during the install they had trouble getting the new unit working, turns out the thermastat was toast which explains why the old unit wouldn't kick on but started if you jumped it at the unit, , always get a second opinion if not outright avoid them if you can unless your willing to do a new install and willing to haggle on the price, shop around though, you have other contractors locally that could give you a better deal then...
