Yesterday I had a really bad experience here. Just as my daughter and I were about to check out I saw a neat old vintage suitcase. I picked it up and it was heavy. Inside I found another matching suitcase in a smaller size and inside that suitcase was a 3rd suitcase that was of a different color green. I looked and the only price was 5.99 attached to the handle of the largest suitcase. When we went to check out I told the cashier Penny that I wanted to be honest and let her know there were 2 other suitcases inside so inquired if the price was for all 3. Penny called over the other older cashier who was very rude and kept saying that they were antique. They called the assistant manager Jessica but she refused to come down and made the older cashier carry the 3 suitcases up to her office. We checked out all of our other items while waiting a long time. Then the cashier comes back and says the largest and middle suitcases were now $29.99 and the smallest $14.99. When Penny and I expressed that we did not think that was fair considering it was marked as $5.99 nothing was done. I am a reasonable person and was trying to be honest and would not have minded if I could only get the 1 for 5.99 but to totally screw the customer and raise the price is beyond terrible customer service. Also it did NOT help that the older cashier kept repeatedly saying well they are antique, they are antique. Guess what they were the same antique when you priced them, you can't just decide that because someone wants to buy it that you are going to change the price from $5.99 to $45. I have tried to call and talk to the Manager Nicole but she is not available but to me this is very dishonest and just bad all over...
Read moreThey have a nice selection of odds and ends here which are well organized, but I was treated like a criminal for trying to open a Blu-ray case before buying it. The disc was loose in the case and I wanted to check to make sure it wasn't damaged before I bought it. I attempted to peel off a piece of tape on edge so I could check the disc, when I was approached by an employee. I explained to him that the disc was loose inside and that I wanted to make sure it wasn't scratched. He looked at me in utter disbelief and informed me that he "tapes all of them" before taking it into a back room, returning moments later with it re-taped, and walking away. A few minutes later, he saw me still holding the movie, and condescendingly asked if "it was going to work for me." When I went to pay at the register, the cashier opened it and let me preview it before I paid; I'm guessing this is customary, but I'd never been to this store before and wasn't aware that they let you see the discs at the front counter before money is exchanged. All the employee needed to do was tell me that they'd show it to me at the register, but instead he opted to go on a power trip and carry on as though he'd stopped a thief. Left a bad taste...
Read moreGenerally this place is like any small town Treasure Trove it holds quite a few local nick-nacks and if you're lucky you can find something actually worthwhile. One of the major flaws of this place for me is they really ought to sort through old inventory of technology related items that are basically obsolete. They have Iraq of cell phone cases that are almost exclusively for the iPhone 4 and 4S. Some of the cameras that could have at one point been usable are laid on the shelves at a level where children who may not care at all about the product and may not understand how delicate these things are could get into and possibly damage. One thing to know about this location in relativity to the rest of the city is nearby is also a Goodwill that gets quite a bit more traffic so the items are usually fresher at Goodwill. Also the prices seem to be a little bit different a Goodwill I can't say I wouldn't say they're better because prices on clothes at Vincent's are usually...
