Sahara Pizza — Restaurant in The Dalles

My critique with this place is solely on the quality of the product. The service, location, etc were all sufficient. Furthermore, I hope this business well. The critique is with the overall taste of the pizzas. They're simply mediocre. Granted, most of the food here in The Dalles is mediocre. However, this pizza establishment seems to be competing with Pizza Hut in terms of style, pricing, and options. This is fine, but as an independent pizza shop it would behoove you to improve upon the basic, "timeless" appeal of the desirable/savory, if cheap-tasting, Pizza Hut model of pizza. Otherwise I, and likely other patrons, will choose Pizza Hut as it is a known entity and at times cheaper. Finding ways to increase the overall flavor of the pizzas would be job 1 in my estimation. They simply tasted bland and that is both unfortunate and seemingly unnecessary. Finally, MOD Pizza is coming into town soon. While I have no particular love for MOD it is a superior product. To compete with their ability to leverage their name and product, Sahara will have to move up market and provide the kind of taste for price that will provide a viable...

Maybe if you have a sandwich and a speciality pizza that are the same you should clarify which one the person wants... ordered a philly cheese steak, guy says what size.. I was a little confused cause usually sandwiches are 6' or 12' inch, I asked what sizes they had he said small medium or large I'm like large? So our order comes and yep you guessed it it was a large philly cheese steak pizza, instead of the philly cheese steak sandwich I wanted. We eat the pizza being that we spend $20 on it, and it was basically flavorless, it was not impressive at all. The pineapple pizza I got was yummy, but I was really turned off by the whole philly steak thing. I didn't even know they had a philly pizza so yeah as the restaurant they should be the ones to clarify since they have two Philly...

First time ordering from them. We're from Utah and was looking for a quick hot meal. Sahara Pizza was recommended by our Motel 6 desk person. We did the online ordering for some boneless wings and a medium build-it-yourself pizza. The wings were absolutely perfect, nice and hot, great spices. The pizza was also amazing, beautiful crust, crisp at the edge, soft and fully cooked everywhere else. The rest of the toppings were great, generous portions of all with a fantastic crisp all over on top. Simply the best pizza we've had in years. The delivery person was great also.
