I must say that the overall experience in its entirety has been disappointing. If it was not such a costly hassle, I would definitely leave them for U-Haul. I had a particular issue come up and I just believed that how it was handled was unfair to me as a customer and it appears to be another form of getting the most bang for their customer's bucks because in the end, it cost me more than double. I spoke with Ebony and she did not have the authority to resolve it, so I then spoke with the Director and I would go so far as to say that he was not willing to work to resolve it based on customer satisfaction. We played telephone tag a couple of times, but after his last return call, I called him twice and he never even attempted to return my calls from that point. I eventually tried a week later and a couple of days later, we finally connected and that too was a disappointing experience. I plan to pursue the matter further.
In all fairness, I must add that my experience with Ebony was good. She gives great customer service, was professional and knowledgeable. I recently spoke to Yolanda due to another issue surfacing and she resolved the matter professionally.
I am a reasonable person and know that retail in all its forms is probably one of the most difficult jobs to perform because customers can be rude and demand unreasonable request, but this is just not that kind of story. Knowing that, this review has been well thought out and I have made every effort to be consistently fair, but considering that I am a new customer and how my issues were addressed, I can say that I would not do business with them again. If you gone have a stank attitude maybe you shouldn’t be working with people Michael initially rented out a storage unit he confessed that had torn installation and it was Noted in the file of this year and proceeded to rent me the unit anyways unpin me moving into the unit the installation fell all over my belongings furniture,clothing, appliances. I left the unit September 30th and upon leaving found numerous water damage from the cut out part of the installation that I had to request for public storage to come in and fix . I then closed out my unit via web/app. I received a notice maybe 12 days later informing that I was being charged another month of storage rent when I called in to resolve what I assumed was a mistake Nina yelled and had a nasty attitude and told me I left furniture in the unit which was a bold face lie. She hung up on my face and stopped answering the phone upon me denying I left any furniture upon me asking for proof that what was left belonged in my unit. She passed it on To Michael who was seemingly just as rude and unprofessional. She greeted me on a first name basis, upon arrival, a rare gesture these days in the world of customer service. It was quite evident that Yolanda is an experienced customer service 'guru". Not only was Yolanda very helpful, but she guided me in the slushy, snowy grounds, in her classy Public Storage four wheeler to two units to ensure that I would be satisfied with the needed space. Every opportunity Yolanda got she went the extra step above, sweeping the unit upon arrival to ensure that the cleanliness of the unit met the "top notch" expectation. Yolanda was quite personable and truly had a joyful spirit; you could tell quickly that Yolanda loves and appreciates her job and the customers that she serves. The East Hazel Crest Public Storage location is truly blessed to have an employee like Yolanda who doesn't miss a beat. I'm pleased that I made the decision to come to this location and look forward to our business relationship, for the duration of needed service. **My one point of feedback is that the company consider putting an arrow or sign outside on Halsted street that will notify prospective customers of the access road leading to the location.
