Update: I did eventually receive my rings back after 10 weeks. My wedding band was returned with a chipped diamond and I was told I’d need to send it back in to be evaluated and then fixed. Which would take “another 8 or more weeks” and I would be responsible to pay for it. It seems like at the very least they could repair the damage they caused to my wedding band but I suppose not.
Malka the manager at the Beaverton Blue Nile was my saving grace in this whole process and the reason I ever got a resolution. So the actual physical store location and their staff are great. I’m just very disappointed in Blue Nile as a company and their service quality. So my opinion stands that if you’re buying jewelry you should go somewhere else.
Please do not buy from Blue Nile if you can help it. They unfortunately have my engagement ring and my wedding band for service and after 7 weeks it’s still estimated to ship on “invalid date” now after saying it was going to ship on 11/15/24. We’ve been a Blue Nile customer for over a decade and pre-covid when I would send my wedding rings in for service we’d be kept informed and the rings would be returned in a timely manner (4-6 weeks) which is the same timeframe I was told when I sent my rings in this time. In the last 10 days I’ve reached out to service multiple times and almost every time I have been given different conflicting information about the status of my rings, and at no point have they given me any kind of new expectation of when they might be finished and returned to me. All I’m having them do is set my diamond in a new engagement band and as of yesterday they told me my ring is still sitting in Seattle and hasn’t even been shipped to NY where the work can be started. Remember they’ve had my rings for 7 weeks and they’re not even in the right location apparently. I’m just extremely disappointed to feel like they’re giving me the run around and dodging my questions. Even if it was taking longer than expected if they were honest and transparent I would at least feel more trust. I’m now worried something has gone wrong and they’re not telling me. I even purchased a new band for this service order so it’s not as if I didn’t spend any money this time. I’m sure their quality of service is still fine for new customers purchasing their engagement rings but once you’re an established customer don’t expect the same level of service. My wedding rings are extremely valuable to me sentimentally and financially and I’m just crossing my fingers all is okay and I’ll get them back as I...
Read moreI recently visited Blue Nile to purchase a special gift for my wife something meaningful, like a tennis bracelet or a diamond pendant. I came in on a quiet Monday afternoon, expecting a relaxed and enjoyable shopping experience. Unfortunately, what I experienced was the exact opposite. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt off. After an awkward wait, Tamiko eventually got up to help, but it felt more like an obligation than genuine customer service. She seemed more interested in her laptop than the customer in front of her. Her demeanor was cold and disengaged, and it set the tone for a very uncomfortable interaction. I've been around diamonds my whole life my grandfather was in the industry-so I came in with a solid understanding of what I was looking for. I was surprised (and frankly, disappointed) to find that much of the information Tamiko gave me was inaccurate or overly simplified. Rather than offering insight or showing any excitement about the pieces, she just listed off prices directly from the website something I could have done on my own from home. There was no added value, no guidance, and absolutely no personality in the interaction. It felt like she just wanted to get through the conversation as quickly as possible. Before I left, I politely asked for her name out of courtesy, but I knew I wouldn't be returning. I've since taken my business elsewhere, where the staff actually cares about helping you find something special. Shopping for fine jewelry should be an enjoyable and personal experience unfortunately, this visit was anything but. I will be telling all of my friends and colleagues to avoid Blue Nile at all costs. One employee can shift the environment of an...
Read moreTamiko & Malka were absolutely amazing. Not only were they professional and knowledgable, they had great customer service. Our entire purchase timeline took more than half a year but Tamiko was very patient. There was a period where I did not want to be bothered due to the timeline and Tamiko was very courteous and understanding of it, only following up at times where I asked. Tamiko helped me choose numerous diamonds based off different search criteria on many many occasions and was patient while I processed everything and slowly made my decision. After selecting a diamond, we ran into some billing issues with miscommunications with my credit card provider, which delayed the process and resulted in us losing our diamond to another buyer. Tamiko has been very empathetic to our situation and continued to work hard in helping us select another diamond. Due to our time constraint and Tamiko being off on our final day, Malka stepped in and understood everything we were looking for and helped us select a diamond. Tamiko came back and took great care of our purchase through to the end. She has helped with all of my requests to the best of her abilities and power. I highly recommend working with Tamiko for your selection...
