Again, I'm not sure what criteria to use for a food court business so I'll explain my approach as I go along.
I'm in the food court at Washington Square waiting for the Tesla to charge. This is the third time I've had to change... but that and the phone call I received while writing this review will get their own attention.
The Salmon Poke Roll looked nice in the photo at the cart and I like the components.
The salmon itself wasn't bad...although I did find a bone. At first I thought something just got caught in my teeth but when I pulled it our it was a small fish ...actually not much to be concerned with. The wrap was innocuous enough. The rice was ok, the sauce fine...and they presented it and the soy sauce and wasabi on the side.
One thing I really liked was the packaging. Although not entirely aesthetically beautiful, it had its charm and was exceptionally practical. I took a few shots of the wrap showing the different stages of being consumed. As you may notice, the paper holding it all together was easy to peel away so I could get at the roll without everything falling apart.
Of course I do not consider the middle of a very noisy food court in an enormous shopping center to be pleasant to look at.
It was noisy....
The person who was behind the counter gave me their attention...while I was ordering. My guess is that they have been there too long and can do their tasks on autopilot, appear polite enough to get by yet it seemed to me they just didn't want to be there.
The water was water...so... and the environment (a Mall ) is a given.
The service while adequate wasn't 'professional'.
I'm actually bored with my own review so, in closing, I would return to eat and I would purchase the same...
Read more*If you have any allergies, I can't recommend eating here. *
I have celiac disease, which means I'm severely allergic to gluten. I've ordered the dancing salmon burrito from here several times, always letting them know my allergy, and haven't had a problem, and it's so delicious!
Sadly, though, I can't order from here anymore. Tonight, I'm pretty sure someone deliberately added tempura batter crunchies, which have gluten and are not even in the burrito normally. Several large chunks looked like they had been pressed into the center after it had been cut in half, and it's mixed throughout the entire thing. My entire meal is contaminated and inedible. So, if I'm right and this was on purpose, to whoever made my burrito tonight, message received. I really hope I'm wrong (cause who would do that?!), but either way, I recommend the owners talk about allergies with...
Read moreThis place is located in a food mall. It is like a subway where you can see your burrito being made. I am so impressed with how they make the burrito. My family loves eating shrimp tempura sushi, so we thought that the shrimp tempura burrito would be a perfect combo. My daughter LOVED IT. She said that it was the best burrito of her life! I enjoyed it, but I could taste the citric acid preservative in the filling. I would really like to try this burrito without the filling. The fish cakes were yummy. The chicken was NEXT LEVEL. I wish that I only ordered the chicken. Soooooooooooo good. This is a nice, healthy, alternative to other restaurants around. We enjoyed the overall experience. Please give a ‘thumbs up!’ if you find this...
