An opal fell out the second time my wife wore it after about a month and a half of owning it. Waited a couple weeks to take it back for repair and the store was closed during business hours so we tried again the next time we were in the area, which was another month or so. My wife took it into the store while my daughter and I waited outside the store but after a couple mins I could tell by the look on my wife’s face that they were insisting on some kind of payment for repair. So I went in and the woman explained the ring wasn’t covered and the repair would be $150 or she was willing to still let us buy the lifetime warranty for $60. It’s a $116 necklace.. I explained why I thought this necklace should be repaired without charge (only 4 months old, worn only a couple times, never experienced this with other jewelry, etc) but they insisted I pay to repair. I asked if they back their jewelry or not. She said something to the effect of: they back it as much as any other jeweler. Implying I’d get the same treatment everywhere else.. I asked for the necklace back. I’d rather pay someone else to repair it. Then another woman employee (manager maybe?) comes over and says she’ll cover the repair. I was hesitant but agreed. Fast forward a couple weeks. I get a voicemail informing me the necklace wasn’t covered and that the repair would be $150 BUT they were still willing to let me get that warranty. Nope! So done! Read moreMy fiancé wanted to upgrade my engagement ring and went to Helzberg Diamonds in Tigard a couple weeks ago to try and find the perfect ring. I have very small fingers and wear a 4.5 ring size so he knew that he had to make sure whatever ring he got had to be able to be resized down that small without losing the integrity of the ring or disfiguring the shape. He told the associate about his concerns and asked that he showed him rings that would be able to hold up to the resizing and after looking at a whole bunch of rings he found one that he knew I would love! The associate reassured him that because it was not pavé that they would absolutely be able to resize it even though it was an infinity shank. Well I now have the ring and I had called this morning to ask about my warranty and resizing and the associate I had spoke to was so rude that I decided to drive all the way to the Woodburn location to have it resized and much to my surprise when I got to the Woodburn location the very nice associate told me that their jeweler may not be able to size it down that small without disfiguring the shank or compromising the rings integrity!!!
It honestly seems like the Tigard location really didn’t care about the customer and only cared about making their commission.
