I’ve been doing business with Eli for about 2 years now, and I’m glad to say I will never spend another penny at his shop. I got my daughter earrings, my fiancé earrings and her engagement ring, and finally a chain for myself. Eli’s prices are astronomical for the low quality items he sells. My daughter and fiancé both lost an earring each (mind you they were screw backs). I had gotten a pair of earrings for myself from another jeweler and when Eli seen them he said I paid too much for them, so when I was in the market for a bigger chain I had traded in my 2 smaller chains and Eli had given me $1600 towards the upgrade, cool, it wasn’t until I seen what other jewelers were charging for the same size/weight change that I came back the following business day to address my issue and try and negotiate with him to make it right. He said he would make it right, then proceeded to try and sell me a pair of earrings at a comparable price to what other jewelers sell them for. So essentially he overcharged me and then tried to sell me something else at a fair price and that would make up for what he did. And last but not least my fiancé needed her engagement ring sized down and her centerstone came loose after a year so I allowed Eli to size and repair it and after a week we got it back in worse condition than we gave it to him in (probably because he was mad I confronted him about ripping me off). So finally I had enough and I took her ring to Eli’s brother Paul to see if he could fix what Eli had done. Paul was mad at the quality of the work before I even told him who the jeweler was. He said the centerstone was still loose (mind you we had just got the ring back from being repaired 15 minutes prior to taking it to Paul. He said the prongs didn’t have enough meat (gold) on them to hold the diamonds in long term and they would come loose again. So we had Paul redo the prongs, and he did it while we waited. Then I looked at a picture of the ring from when we first got it and the prongs weren’t as small as when we got it back from Eli repairing it. So what he did when he had the ring in the name of getting back at me was either he polished the prongs down and made them weak so she would lose her diamonds, or he took her diamonds and replaced them with lower quality stones and didn’t use enough gold when he reset the new stones he set. Either way the man is a scammer bottom line and I don’t wanna see anyone else fall victim to this greedy individual. After Paul had finished fixing the ring, I asked him what he would have charged me for this chain and let him weigh it , he said he would have charged me about $1100 less than what Eli charged me. And last but not least I asked him what he would sell me the same earrings that Eli had tried to sell me after he ripped me off and ended up actually buying them from Paul because he sold them to me for $200 less than what Eli offered (mind you Eli’s offer was a “discount” for ripping me off) and they came with IGI certified diamonds (Eli’s were uncertified). Before I left Paul’s shop he told me Eli isn’t a real jeweler, he is a salesman who went to school to become a pharmacist, but he couldn’t pass the test. So it’s safe to say Paul is the brother I will be spending my hard earned money with from...
Read moreAbout a year ago, I went to a jewelers and bought an engagement ring to propose to my longtime girlfriend. After 3-4 months, the band of the ring completely changed colors. Out of disappointment we went back to the jewelers and demanded a full refund. My fiancé and I had been looking around for months when a good friend recommended Eli Antypas. We went to Eli Antypas Jewelers the next day and sat down with Eli. Right away, we were impressed that he was there and took the time out of his busy schedule to speak with us. From every visit thereafter, Eli was always present in the store to work with face to face. We decided to have Eli do a custom design for our engagement ring. We gave him a few images and described our likes and dislikes. With confidence, he assured us that he could do the ring exactly how we wished, and he genuinely seemed exited. At that time, he gave us a quote and that quote never changed. We met with him several times throughout the design process. Eli did a magnificent job including us every step of the way, which made for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The ring was finished about a week ago and we couldn't be happier. Eli exceeded our expectations and is by far the best jeweler I have had the privilege to work with, and the only jeweler I will work with in the future. I highly recommend Eli Antypas Jewelers to anyone...
