Cafe Donuts — Restaurant in Toledo

Cafe Donuts single handedly saved the day for our child’s donut theme breakfast birthday. We discovered that Krispy Kreme was just… closed despite placing a pick up order earlier in the week for this. This was at 9 AM and we had no treats for a party! We called cafe donuts in a panic- we had 60 people to feed! By 10:00 AM, we had 200 freshly made donut holes and four dozen raised glazes with sprinkles to match our theme still a bit warm from the fryer on our party table- even including a special donut with multicolored sprinkles in a box labeled “happy birthday!” The person picking up said every employee was working impressively quickly to get this order out the door in under 30 minutes from phone call to car! My frantic husband even noted that the manager was calm and collected when he was definitely not, suggesting the right number of donuts and types! I cannot express how extraordinary their customer service is. We already loved their donuts anyway, but I have to say I don’t know that we’ll ever go to another bakery in Toledo besides Cafe after this day...

I took my husband and daughter here after telling the both of them many times about the donuts my family used to get from here when I was a kid! So glad it’s just as good (yummy as the kid in me would say) as I remember!

The donuts are beautifully decorated, and for an additional charge (way less than a dollar I believe per donut) they have donuts that they make into polar bears, turkeys, reindeer, etc. My husband loved the apple fritter! I am definitely a fan of the sour-cream “old-fashioned” donuts! The sprinkle donuts are a winner for my daughter and my nieces & nephews.

The new owners and employees are just as friendly as the previous owners. The quality ingredients, tasty treats, and friendly faces are what will be bringing us back!

Thank you for your generous donation of 2 dozen beautiful donuts to our Free Dental Day Event at Frankel Dentistry. We served over 90 guests with $42,000 of free dental services. Patients are seen on a first come, first see basis and the donuts made waiting delicious!

Update! Another Free Dental Day and our guests enjoyed a sweet treat (We have plenty of toothbrushes!) as they waited. It is a first come, first serve event. Thank you Cafe Donuts! You are another reason Toledo, Ohio is terrific.
